Recent tensions have surged in Sumava due to clashes between the Sahrani Imperial Guard and local residents, further straining relations between Sahranistan and NATO. President Viktor Butinov, who has assumed the title of Emperor in recent times, governing over Sahranistan and its affiliated nations, has openly expressed imperialistic aspirations. He contends that Sumava rightfully belongs to his domain, citing the significant presence of 3rd and 2nd generation Sahranians among the local population. This claim has prompted him to mobilize his so-called "Peacekeeping" force, which is currently stationed in the area, with the intention of asserting control over the region.
Fortunately, a NATO peacekeeping contingent was already deployed in the northwest part of Sumava to thwart any attempts at a hybrid annexation. Responding to the situation, the Sumavan government has formally appealed for support from both NATO and the US administration to counter the Sahranian advancement and eject them from the territory. Taking charge of this mission is the 7th Cavalry Regiment, entrusted with this responsibility due to its existing presence in Sumava.
