Element Callsign: Allied Tank Squad
Element Leader: Sergeant Sibley.K
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Sergeant Sibley.K
Corporal Moff.N
Corporal Coutou.M

Pros:
  • Fun to do offensive in an operation
Cons:
  • Server OR map issues caused massive amounts of technical problems for our crew. Examples:
    • Gunner experiencing 300 ping. Staring at a bush on their screen even though our tank was deep in an urban environment. It was so bad that we had to take an armor engagement by using audio commands to fire the main cannon because the gunner's screen was not updating
    • Tank reversing, driver taps left-stick once and the entire tank does nothing for 5 seconds then swings 45 degrees
    • 2 of 3 crewmen could not get the light tank to operate. It would glitch out and not get traction. Had to have the TC drive the tank during the convoy push.

Element Callsign: Canadian Recon Element ''Sneaky''
Element Leader: First Sergeant Rasmus.M
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
First Sergeant Rasmus.M
First Sergeant Busch.J

Pros:
  • I love Juno Beach so far, from a recon perspective.
  • We did what we love to do, being sneaky rats in the backline, spotting tanks movement and spawn flow, just harrassing.
  • Always love honouring D-Day with the 2nd Battalion. Let Us Never Forget.
  • Probably the first time i had tons of fun on Offensive.
Cons:
  • None !

Element Callsign: Canadian Fox Squad
Element Leader: Staff Sergeant Belmont.E
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Master Sergeant Becks.J
Specialist Miller.L
Private Hobbs.C

Pros:
  • Loved playing on the new map
  • Squad played well when I was indisposed with the armor column; great play on the flanks, sabotaging and harassing their position
    • MSG Beck served as a good FTL
Cons:
  • Organization was a bit hectic. Delegation and breaking down into smaller teams would have served us well
  • Felt lost as to what to do at times, could use more direction

Element Callsign: Axis Lead Tank Commander - "Cheap and Easy"
Element Leader: First Lieutenant Sotelo.R
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
First Lieutenant Sotelo.R
Specialist Choi.S
Reservist Bas.D

Pros:
  • Tank crew did a great job battling the enemy plus the weird map performance. Choi was a killer and Bas's mastery made my job as PLTC very easy.
  • Axis tank platoon were smooth operators tonight; swap roles, changing positions, ensuring our sectors were covered and enemy attacks suppressed
  • Infantry calls were great today, really good details provided and great identification of the allied armor assets. Good reaction and support when armor needed help.
Cons:
  • Maps performance was dumb. Optimized in most areas, weird bugs in others, but eh, good map.
  • Allied I think deserved a 4th tank with the Axis having 3 tanks and an SPA asset.

Element Callsign: Allies Squad 3 "Canadian Eh?"
Element Leader: Specialist Stevenson.A (Needs D-Day Medal)
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Cazeault.J (Needs D-Day Medal)
Private First Class Sly.R (Needs D-Day Medal)
Specialist Milkovic.D
Specialist Austin.M
Corporal Riley.D

Pros:
  • Fun Idea
  • Offensive if different
  • The squad worked together amazingly. Everyone was doing the exact right thing for each situation. Love working with people I usually don't work with and continually being impressed in how great everyone is.

Cons:
  • Allies mainly used 3-man squads but did not have an outside communication besides game chat. This led to minimal coordination and handicapped each squad. Too many Chiefs can lead to heavy disorganization.
  • Briefing/Set-up took unusually long. We tried something new with the BOT to help check who was here, but this led to a lot of errors and discrepancies. This made the Mission Controllers have to recheck everything which took more time.
  • The idea of not capping a point really created an unnecessary lull in the fight. Most troopers sat outside the point just waiting for the go ahead to be able to push in. Violence of action should be a priority
  • Armor Convoy was a fun idea, but I think we should practice this in SPs and smaller operations before being utilized as the primary plan. The FTX should be an area we try and use everything we have been practicing in SPs.
  • Juno Beach needs some love from team 17 before we commit to it.
(Not trying to be a negative Nancy, I really love these operations and hope the critiques can help us.)

SPC.Walton.D
SPC.Fenrir.J
SPC.Belanger.C
PFC.Gruen.G (NEEDS D-Day Medal)
SPC.Stout.S (NEEDS D-Day Medal)

Pros:
  • Guys had fun!
  • Good change of pace with new map and Offensive mode which hasn't been played ever in my time in the Cav.

Cons:
  • More on T17, map is a bit buggy
  • Felt like we were trying a risky convoy strategy at the risk of map position that took us a while to set back.

Element Callsign: Canadians "Love" Infantry Squad
Element Leader: First Lieutenant Nate Angels
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Corporal Pierre LaRoche
Specialist Marquis Whetstone

Pros:
  • Great inner squad communication. Squad did absolutely fantastic in my eyes.

Cons:
  • I was placed as a Platoon Leader for tonight's Operation. One of the few operations that I actually wanted to lead the infantry into battle on D-Day. I had a whole plan set together. Being told last minute by my commander that I will not be in the position of platoon leader irritated me. I'll be honest: I just ran my squad on my own and had the best fun we could.
  • From what I was hearing, the plan felt half-assed. Nothing was clear on what we wanted to do, we were reacting to the Axis' attacks without planning and some calls from the commander were questionable in my opinion. Airheads on enemy controlled points, garrisons that made no sense logistically, the "convoy" that took 3/4 of the team to take halftracks and roll them into the point, I just didn't get it.

Specialist Loup.N
Recruit Rat.L

Pros:
  • Fun op for the entire battalion
  • Good squad work and comms
  • Op felt more open for getting things done and not linear

Cons:
  • Mandatory losing of caps, but understandably a part of the op and historical aspect
  • Map is unoptimised, not anyones fault of course but still nice to have a new map
*sorry forgot to update with info

Corporal Wagner.D
Corporal Baldrick.D
Specialist Muller.AS (NEEDS D-DAY MEDAL)
Specialist Cummings.J (NEEDS D-DAY MEDAL)
Private McCann.C (NEEDS D-DAY MEDAL)

Pros:
  • Squad moved and functioned well - attacked well and worked well on the flanks to create pressure. three instances where we were the only guys on point
  • always fun to stack with Reapers especially some of these ones I have not got to group much with
Cons:
  • Strategy with halftracks was interesting perhaps would work with multiple lanes of attack, however tanks were non-existent for pushes (either due to the fuel use or otherwise)
  • Offensive didn't offer much for setup - was ok but the start was sort of a mess
  • Leadership comms were lacking for direction - squad leads were left to identify lane, rolls, and was unsure if purpose was met with roll of the squad (flank, hammer, anvil, etc)
  • Coordination was off

Pros:
  • Nice to try the new map with Offensive Mode
  • Holding off on the second point, then pressing worked
  • Third point was tougher, but good maneuvering worked
  • The halftrack, although ill-fated, was fun to try
Cons:
  • Overall coordination lacked for the final point
  • Squads were working independently, and not coordinating
  • Request to place markers without constant chatter was ignored, every third callout was a tank location

RET.Sokol.Z
1SG.Webber.R RET
PFC.Freeman.S (NEEDS D-DAY MEDAL)
PFC.Garner.P (NEEDS D-DAY MEDAL)
CPL.Plummer.M

Pros:
Offensive mode
  • My squad was swapping roles constantly so most of the garrisons the allies destroyed out West or hard point came back up relatively quickly.
  • Were able to get a few rep stations up
  • Lots of mines and explosive ammos
  • Squad adapted well to the crunch

Cons:
  • Enemy Recon seemed so impactful that for a long time we had no garrisons on our back point.
  • We were redeploying from the 2nd point to the 3rd point and lost the relevant garrisons to redeploy, definitively a tense moment of figuring out where to spawn and where to be effective, and where to get that fresh garrison up.
  • Because we don't play offensive very often, it felt like we gave up the 1st point too quickly. The eastern boys, while holding the default, didn't get any cap weight into the circle. Garry on 2nd point took too much time for my taste, I could have delegated another squad to have their support boy place that off the rip, or asked for a command supp drop. With the commander shift I neglected to mention it again. Was novel, but at times very stressful because we as the Cav are unpracticed at this mode.

1st D-Day operation,.
  • Below are definitely eligible

Element Callsign: Axis
Element Leader: First Lieutenant DAmico.J
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Scripted events are fun because they add a unique aspect to the game. It allows us to control outcomes and forces the team to adapt and overcome. As Hermes so eloquently stated in the hotwash, that is the true test of leadership. When you are thrown into unforeseen situations, you have to rise to the occasion and be the difference maker.
  • It was great to see Offensive used in an event. We never do it, but it's very fun to switch it up.
  • We are truly experiencing the "good ol' days". It's hard to know when you're in it, but I'm saying it now. 2-7 is it's strongest position yet, and it has been defined by the character of hundreds of people that come and made their impact in small and large ways. We are all the culmination of years of efforts, lessons learned, triumphs, and failures. It's a privilege to be here, and I am making the most of every moment.
Cons:
  • Needs more cowbell

Pros:

  • Amazing turn-out, 100 participants!
  • Command chat communications were excellent.
  • Great team cohesion and morale during the hot-wash
  • Damico stepped up to lead while my technical issues were resolved
Cons:
  • CRCON issues with the flip
  • PC technical issues kept me from giving my OPORD to the Axis team
  • Teams could have been more balanced

Element Leader: Sergeant Hermes.S
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Major Macpherson.C
Corporal Tilley.B
Corporal Feathers.A
Private First Class Anthony.M
Recruit Schenkel.W

Pros:
  • Strong work all around - Likely would've held the point to victory x3 total, sans the game rules
  • Couldn't have been prouder of my squad. Top squad on Combat Effectiveness, 3rd on defense effectiveness second to Kokin and Donk. (that's without my scores bc I crashed sad face)
  • B - for command comms. They were fair for the first three, but the final point became far too extra
  • A new map! With little to no playtime from the entirety of the cav! This is huge! It offers such a testament to everything! Training, leadership, I could talk about it for hours. It pokes true holes in your efforts or underlines what you've done that works.
  • It was a constant harassment on the hard cap. So kudos to the offense.

Cons:
  • HUGE GAPS in our defensive perimeter! consistently 200-400m GAPS. Cray.
Because it might be the last BAT FTX -

"Another glorious day in the CAV! A day in the CAV is like a day on the farm! Every meal, a banquet. Every paycheck, a fortune. Every full mason, a parade. I LOVE THE CAV!" My personal favorite pre-battle-cry
