Pros:
  • Really great Operation, guys loved it. Gave reintroduction to use of land-nav for us pilot folk.
Cons:
  • Nighttime portion of the op was really rough for Viper with lack of NVGs

Pros:
  • Glad to hear that Viper enjoyed slaughtering us
Cons:
  • Ambush at the very beginning basically shot the entire op, losing all of our critical vehicles and set us rolling down the hill to an inevitable and total loss for US forces
  • Maintaining static positions was a poor idea as they were quickly swarmed and ranged in.
  • Communication from GODFATHER was cryptic and unhelpful at times.
  • From the rip, this was poorly conceived. Setting up US forces at AOI2 and OPFOR players at AOI3 turned what should have been a meeting engagement into a guaranteed ambush as OPFOR was immediately on the flank of US forces from the start. MOB protections meant that both mortars operated with impunity with no chance for counter-battery. The US forces were constantly on the backfoot because they were constantly going to locations that OPFOR knew we were going to, so every movement was a guaranteed slaughter. Needing to maintain static positions for the mission meant that every position was destined to fall, given enough time and RPGs. Lots of equipment issues as well, radios were shot and respawns were painful without the ability to type in radio nets, medical boxes and equipment boxes were not able to be used as arsenals and so were practically useless, no 7 meant that medical was untenable.
  • People left, I don't blame them, I was one of them, this was eternally frustrating

Pros:
  • Viper 4 was a wrecking ball for the duration of the Operation. We were given an area to hold...and hold it we did. Well done V4!
  • Troopers had fun.
  • V4 did it all this OP, ambushes, hasty attacks, FOB assaults, QRF to retake our FOB.

Cons:
  • Technical issues that need to be hashed out regarding arsenals and radios..etc.
  • The brief structure should be different for this style of OP. I don't have an idea for a better way...but it should be done differently.
  • MILSIM and PVP will never....NEVER....work together. The goal of PvP is to win. To win you must employ the META. I think that this OP was the closest we came to trying to keep it MILSIM...and it lasted all of about 5 minutes. The caveat for these types of OPs should be "IF PvP...don't expect MILSIM" * I am not saying don't do PvP OPs...I am saying don't expect MILSIM or structure.

Pros:
  • Great coordination from GMs to set the mission up and test leadership roles and a change of pace.
  • First time in the 6 role so I wanted to challenge myself.
  • Great turn out glad
Cons:
  • We got ambushed right out of MOB and from there it derailed the OP for us and made it impossible to get any foothold to get anything from there.
  • All chaos between BLUFOR when first contact hit to constant respawns happening consistently.

Pros:
  • Great Leadership and comms
  • Lots of fun (every squad member said this)
  • Great display of how 7 Cav tactics need to be improved
  • Genuine fear in the start with the thought of getting air assaulted

Cons:
  • Taliban needs to be nerfed or Cav needs more of a violence of action and a jump start
  • Need an all or nothing call on taking equipment
  • Boxes were not fully worked out as well as losing some major mods made the start clunky

Specialist Chisum.J

Pros:
  • Fun planning out the mission. Had some good colaboration from leadership elements which helped shape the outcome.
  • Opfor plan went well. Were able to successfully secure crossroads area
  • Comms rolling method worked well. Platoon was able to swap over multiple times sucessfully
  • Successfull fire missions onto multiple predesignated TRPs
  • Squads took initiative to be in good positions. Kudos to all leadership doing a great job
  • Seems opfor generally had a good time

Cons:
  • Miss in opord on secondary staging
  • Miss in opord on proper radios to carry led to early comms degredation
  • Miss in opord to include additional TRPs
  • Opord was not clear enough on loadouts and equipment allowed for teams
  • Blufor MOB was too close which was a massive disadvantage to them
  • Had Greenfor flank and take over OP Justice for some time

Element Callsign: Hokas-1
Element Leader: Corporal Johnsen.M
7th Cavalry Personnel in Element:
  1. Corporal Reddick.A
  2. Corporal Pearl.F
Pros:
  • Nance was a great leader
  • Hokas team did great with the hand they got dealt
Cons:
  • Hold on opening spawn until after brief is complete. Players were spawning in before they were told where to spawn wasting a bunch of resources.
  • Guys running around with PKMs and RPGs at the same time.
  • VHC kept despawning making us lose supplies and ammunition along side mode of transportation.
  • Radios were spotty at the best, the lack of the radio mod didn't help.
  • Packet loss hit hard sometimes making it impossible too drive at times.
  • Terrain made it very difficult to navigate with trucks and building up defences.
  • Mortar Arsenal/Ammo Box didn't work making getting rounds fire very complicated and uneccesarily hard.
  • Earbuds mod and Voice Range mod would've been nice too have.
  • BLUEFOR MOB was too close and the AO was too small and linear making it a big slaughter fest onto BLUEFOR.
  • The Pilot objective should've been a search for both Factions instead of REDFOR already having him, as well being located at the REDFOR MOB from the get-go.
  • Lack of correct arsenals made loadouts very difficult and improper.
  • Mortar TRPs didn't get used that much.
  • Comms were disorganized.
  • The pre-set Kill Zone never got used near OP Restrepo.
  • Terrain difficulties and Vhc problems made resupplies impossible.

Element Callsign: Helios Section Lead
Element Leader:
PFC Miranda.M
7th Cavalry Personnel in Element:
  1. CPL Holiday.T
  2. CPL Thompson.L

Pros:
  • Concept of the Operation seemed like a good idea
  • Multiple Preplanned targets ended up destroying/Displacing enemy mortar positions/infantry in the open
Cons:
  • No proper Helios Box for Wirecutters/Mortar Components limiting Helios Capabilities
  • Map size meant Mortars could fire with impunity across the entire AO without displacing
  • GM rules weren't fleshed out to allow/disallow mortar fire FROM the MOB. The Airfield Spawn to the north would've been perfect for having to move from spawn.
  • Map Size with only one real avenue of approach for ground vehicles meant engagements from roughly 200-300 meters from the MOB. I shouldn't be able to shoot enemies with an M4 from my spawn.
  • Little to no engineer work being done, either construction or demo. There were obstacles that couldn't be destroyed.
  • OPORD was rushed on both sides

Sustains:
  • PvP! Despite any positive or negative feedback, it is great to finally see PvP coming back. No matter how many improves/cons are posted from everyone, this diversity in gameplay was much needed in the squad troopers eyes.
  • Squad had fun for the majority of the Operation.
  • A few cinematic moments that made it feel like a "Movie"
  • Had plenty of good laughs amongst the squad. (CPL.Marquez got to use his Bayonet!)
  • Squad listened, communicated, and moved as a team the entire operation.
  • Great squad cohesion.
Improves:
  • Ambush at the very beginning took away all positive momentum for the US forces. Out of the base for less then 2 minutes and we had lost 70% of the platoon. Map was way to small and the terrain worked entirely against the US forces in all aspects from the start.
  • Lack of some standard mods used in previous Operations caused confusion upon loading in. (Earplugs, Voice Range, etc)
  • The OPORD was confusing, over complicated, troopers lost track 15 minutes in. Did not fit a very PvP conducive environment. (The brief does not need to be extended. Just re focused on what matters)
  • Platoon Communications were barely effective. Paranoid of taken radios kept most troopers silent on Platoon it seemed.
  • GM Spawning/AI was absolutely unhinged-insane the last part of the operation.. (Fighting the Necromongers from Riddick...) Caused the majority of the squad to call it and leave the operation 30 minutes early.
  • Troopers felt like the Operation was just a jumbled objective mess with surviving in Afghanistan against the Taliban sprinkled in. The mission became survive? we think? 10 minutes in for two hours.

Sustains:
  • Every trooper had fun, great concept of operations, great OPORD. Consensus from the team is we want more!
  • Great communication between leadership and squads tonight, Viper 1 and Viper 3 worked well together.
  • With no advanced equipment or electronics, it was back to the basics. Execution of tactics (Hasty Ambush, Buddy Team Bounding, Break Contact) and Communication (ACE, SPOTREP, SITREP, 3D's) was all on point and lead to successful engagements and mission success in daylight and in darkness.
Improves:
  • Nothing from the team regarding the mission or its execution.
  • Unclear of which radio was correct, led to some initial comms issues at beginning of operation.
  • Arsenals need some work, but we made it work with what we were given.

Sustains:

  • Change of pace and a challenge that tested the troopers.
  • Outstanding reaction to ambush
  • Troopers had fun.
Improves:
  • Initial Contact / Ambush stalled forward operations. Troopers were unsure where to go and what next step was.
  • General and continent MODS were not present. (Voice Range, Earplugs)
  • Arsenal did not have proper equipment for maneuver elements. The Automatic Rifleman was forced to utilize 240 and not standard issued 249 Saw.
  • The OPORD was over complicated and not clear.
  • Communications from Misfit up to 6 or 5 was extremely difficult. It was communicated to switch frequencies in the OPORD however it was never communicated in the battle field.
  • Troopers felt that if this was a PVP then it would have been ideal to leave the PVE aspect out.
  • During OPORD it was stated "Adhere to 7Cav rules and regs" however it was witnessed on several occasions troopers equipping non standard equipment (suppressors, optics and clothing)

Pros:
  • Lots for Buffalo flight to do
  • Fun infill/exfills
  • good comms from ground teams
  • Loved supply missions
Cons:
  • OP was too long
  • Didn't really understand what the objective was
  • It did end up getting dark which hindered flight capabilities
