Pros:

  • Everyone in Axis did absolutely great.
  • The communication was constant and some was unnecessary but we were able to effectively coordinate.
  • The overall plan by SFC.Wisniewski.A was very well made with the help of the other squad leaders.
Cons:
  • Server issues.
  • Being in the meat grinder from start to finish was very demoralizing.
  • Felt like Axis had a massive disadvantage, we had to push through open fields on all flanks and Allies had the defensive postures that overlooked all of our positions.
  • The limitations that Axis had wasn't the best. I personally would've put the mid point as Foy to easily determine the line between phases.
  • The usage of AT guns was a bit overbearing; if this is a historical event, I don't think they had 100 AT guns aimed at a limited AO.
  • I personally didn't appreciate getting shot at during Phase 1 when I am stuck in the HQ and enemy is allowed to walk up close and start taking pop shots.

Pros:

During the first 25 minutes, my squad & I got together & set up a game plan of what we were to achieve & what I was to expect from my team. This is a 10/10 idea.
Squad did well holding the defensive line.
Flanking did well.
Limitations of tanks is a good idea.
Absolute fun. Learned how to crawl.
Great communication all around.

Cons:

Very grindy to make headway.

Pros:

  • Great communication, great company and at times really funny moments. Very great organization, and very great attitude, and no giving up.
Cons:
  • Could be thought out a bit better even though it is a historical battle, so that both sides at times have a chance to get the win.

Pros:

  • Good pre OP planning.
  • Good realisation of a historical scenario.
  • Command comms were effective and we displayed good tactical flexibility.
  • Great in squad synergy and communication
Cons:
  • Server performance was utter trash, massively detracting from the enjoyment. long term issue over 2 years long, thats never been addressed properly. Someone in Higher command needs to deal with this properly.
  • 1:1 force structure coupled with restricted AO and the open shooting gallery map took a lot of the fun from what was otherwise a very well realised historical OP.
  • Diluted force composition left axis unable to deliver sufficient force at any one point until later in the OP when we clumped vectors to produce more mass.

Pros:

  • We we're covering the North, My guys we're easily able to look East and West and cover both of those flanks with MG's and AT guns.
  • My guy's had tons of fun. One of the best OP's I've been too in a long time.
  • The Axis seem to be very conservative with their armor at the beginning and playing a little too far back behind the infantry.
  • The Axis didn't push tanks with other tanks until the last 20 minutes
  • Great OP objectives, would have loved to see how the command posts aspects would have played out
Cons:
  • Teams might have been unbalanced numbers wise. Maybe 3:2 ratio attackers/defenders
  • Maybe limit AT guns next time
  • I didn't rubber band at all (I live in Oklahoma) but everyone in my squad and myself saw tanks rubber banding all game

Pros:
  • Beyond excellent planning for the Allied team. No matter what occurred on the battlefield, Allied command was ready and able to respond accordingly to stifle any Axis offensive.
  • My squad was very responsive and super well trained. Everyone completed their role to the best they could possibly do, no matter the task.
  • Command communication chat was the greatest I have ever heard. It was very clear, concise and with multiple squads working well together and organizing defensive maneuvers.
  • I love detailed, organized operations such as this, legitimately one of the greatest matches I've had on Hell Let Loose. Please please please never stop doing these!
Cons:
  • Historically speaking, maybe the Allies being surrounded on all fronts would have been more accurate. I feel like the Axis being limited to pushing from one side was maybe a big oversight from the operations planning. Unfortunately it was after the operation that I thought of this but the team balance would have been a non-issue if this would've been the case throughout the match.
  • None! (Other than server issues with rubber banding).

Pros: Great operation, Amazing coms and directions from leadership. As recon I did a lot of bouncing from point to point and really enjoyed it. Shoutout to SPC.Lane.R for his good coms and overall combat ability.

Cons: Of course server issues, but at times it felt we were an impenetrable force on the allied side, would love to see more realism.

Pros:

  • Historic scenarios are fun and interesting, and should be encouraged
  • Detailed OPORD was concise and specific
Cons:
  • Artificial AO restrictions for an attacker gives an imbalanced advantage to the defender
  • Defender numbers should always be fewer than attackers (ie. if 60 players, 35:25 or such)
  • German command channel was jammed with unnecessary callouts
  • Players start to lose enthusiasm and momentum when a hopeless grind goes on for too long, even when "expected"

Pros: Op was initially fun
Guys responded to hot swap request
Good marks of enemy locations by the squads
Tankers responded when I asked for Shelling of certain areas, I have to do this more often

Cons:
Open Fields got old
Would suggest tankers are allowed into that wider AO to the East as long as they don't cap, though I know that is a difficult thing to risk, but would allow for more encirclement's like those that occurred historically.

Unlimited Recon tanks would have allowed for a more dynamic play, more squad lead flanks, and some leeroy jenkins action for entertainment. We couldn't get any access to our multiple supply drops behind enemy lines.

25 Minute set up could have been shortened to 20 I think.

TS1 Server rubber banding in the Supply truck was discouraging.

Pros:

  • Great comms
  • I love all the effort by Mission controller on putting on this historical OP. These ops provide great palate change from normal HLL vanilla matches and I very much look forward to it each time it's posted.
  • Good synergy, SLs were simply amazing on all the task given to them, they also were happy to comply to all my requests.
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed working with these SLs
    • Special shout out to Roscoe.N and Stevenson.A for care they put into helping me plan our strategy.
    • Flick.J was amazing on providing QRF to make everything work.
    • Austin.M and Baldrick.D played crucial role in hunkering down the town and successfully defended our front line.
    • DAmico.J was great as usual on holding down East side and making necessary calls and relaying info.
    • Mix.C and Cross.JA had tremendous help in ensuring the defense and info on map with their callouts and flares.
  • For building command post, it was complicated and no SLs were present with the troopers but they still managed to get them up ahead of schedule. Simply amazing coordination on their part.
Cons:
  • Terrible server rubber-banding. I think it has severely impacted the operation and needs a serious look from General Staff please.
    • Both sides suffered as Allies had trouble landing rockets and I'm sure Axis tanks had more trouble just driving in general.

Pros:

  • Hard fought battle with a tough OPORD, Axis really earned the ground they took. Saw some really great gunfights
  • SLs that were able to work with me on the planning were awesome
  • Always a fan of the Historical OPs
Cons:
  • As commander, I should have made the call to consolidate our push earlier
  • Command Coms were a bit too busy, had some significant callouts missed on a few occasions
  • Server performance was pretty disappointing. Vehicles were rubber banding a lot

Pros:

  • Good turnout.
  • Allies played very well. Planning was good. Command coms good. Over all high level effort.
  • Good to see variety in our OP format.
  • Generally ran smoothly
Cons:
  • Frustrating grind for Axis
  • First phase seemed needlessly long. Allies had some building to do but I presume most Axis troopers were more or less standing around.
  • Phased OP's of this sort sometimes need a little help moving along. Possibly more fun would have been had over all if there was a built in mechanism to ensure that the Axis advanced at some point.
