Element Callsign: Banshee-2

Element Leader: Keene.R

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Good crew cohesion, clear communication between crew
Cons:
  • Spacing in the convoy could be improved quite a bit, when we took contact we could not maneuver and we had lots of issues supporting infantry effectively I think as a result
  • Radio comms and command-and-control can be improved, we received confusing orders ("disregard contact", "do not monitor convoy net"), conflicting orders, or incomplete information (we thought the fortress was cleared, it wasn't and we took an RPG from there)
  • Took a long time to step off
  • Did not feel utilized or planned to be used - e.g. we approached a heavily fortified position but we didn't utilize our heavy firepower effectively

Pros:
  • Good inter-platoon communication and organization!
  • No PSG but the SLs were able to organize reinserts.
  • PCCs & PCIs for Pioneer were effective and done within the requested time allotment. I then had time to line up in a formation and brief them on our plan. We then mounted and were in convoy order by 1513 EST. Excellent work and I hope to maintain this in the new year!
  • Pioneer Platoon was working within the lanes I set up well and conducted an excellent deliberate clearance of the town of Muskah. They also did well flexing during the hasty attack on the construction area.
  • Excellent use of smoke by all SLs to mark positions when needed!
  • Overall, a good group of guys to hang out with and shwack opfor with.
  • Lots of good training points to be taken away!

Cons:
  • Breakdown in communication with Viking/Banshee that led to friendly fire incidents. Neither Viking nor Pioneer had an RTO & PSG which made it difficult to track everything going on.
  • Spotreps on Company Net was limited at best.
  • Troop-level organization was lacking at times.
  • We were asked to clear a large construction building, but were not allotted time to clear it fully. The rest of the troop moved on past and then we were asked to break contact with it. This left us exposed and resulted in a Banshee being disabled.
  • Need to work on convoy movements in the new year for sure.

  • Conflicting Orders Between Platoon & Company
  • Miscommunications & Radio Communication Breakdowns.

Pros:
  • Fun
  • Good movements in CQB even tho we were suppose to do Escort.
Cons:
  • Split intent between Company and Platoon Staff from the start. Please use "Convoy Escort" as an intent, if that is what we are doing.
  • No platoon Sergeant, made platoon leaders overwhelmed.
  • We need to be better at KISS, Keeping It Simple Sir (Stupid or Sailor). Initially, Followed by and Ending up with.
  • Bug with dismounts from Banshee.
  • Bug with M4 203 not reloading mag.
  • Server stability issues.
  • Weight restrictions for mech is unreasonable, please use recommendation with an intent of running a lot and leave the decision of Squad level.
  • We as a squad did not like that we got told to split a member out of our squad and replacing him with a member of Helios. Especially as newly made stable squad.
  • No access to MAAWS ammo and scopes in the arsenal.

Pros:
  • Good fire team cohesion. Good communications between SLs within the platoon net and on the section net. Good call outs.
  • The shift in operation priority was fun with the downed aircraft. We enjoyed how the scenario changed and we had to adjust.
  • Good quick FRAGO was given from platoon.
Cons:
  • Obvious lagging issues. Once player was disconnected numerous times.
  • Too much proxy chatter, makes it difficult to hear pertinent communications.

Second Lieutenant Masnec.G

Pros:
  • Good inter-section communication and organization.
  • Good cordination between both Viking elements
  • Good initiative from Banshee-4 who pushed to the front of the convoy and provided supressive fire when Banshee-1 and Banshee-2 were down.

Cons:
  • Breakdown in communication with Viking/Banshee that led to friendly fire incidents. Neither Viking nor Pioneer had an RTO & PSG which made it difficult to track everything going on.
  • Breakdown is especially evident in Banshee as they had multiple issues with troopers having communication issues from the start and both SL and ASL desync during heavy firefight when pushing to crash site.
  • Spotreps on Company Net was limited at best.
  • Bug with dismounts from Banshee which slowed us at first objective.
  • Not clear intent from company staff about how to proceed in the OP. Pushed to expedite and company micromanagment didn't help either instead it made even bigger mess as SLs had no idea should they listen to platoon or company staff at times.
  • Troop-level organization was lacking at times.
  • Need to work on convoy movements in the future.

Pros:
  • Medics had a lot of fun
  • Good medical work ---> No black tags in our care
  • Good medical workload for both -7 elements
  • Good team work and coordination among all medics
Cons:
  • Long waiting time at the staging area
  • Lack of ace prototype meant that we required an ambulance, which however put us in the weird position of having Viking-7 and Pioneer-7 in one element together during large parts of the FTX ---> acted as SL/Dispatchfor both medical teams
  • Medical net was underutilized, calls where made on the platoon net ---> meant that each medical team could only hear calls from their own platoon, even if the casulty was right next to their location
  • Radio coms on platoon and convoy net was conducted poorly at times

Pros:
  • Pioneer units were on point with PCC/PCIs meeting time hack.
  • Movements were good within the squad.
  • Good cohesion between all pioneer units.
  • Pioneer-6 was great at coordinating all Pioneer Units
Cons:
  • Phase 1 seemed to take a long time. We were sitting in the trucks for a while before stepping off.
  • DCs and lag issues.
  • Viking Squad drifted into our lane.
  • Friendly fire from a Banshee unit on Pioneer-1 & 2

Pros:
  • Excellent fireteam cohesion and squad cohesion.
  • Excellent PCCs/PCIs complete on time and good loading of truck for extra goods
  • Squad took care of new private Deeks - he knew what was going on despite the chaos of battle
  • Excellent succession of command during DCs/KIA
  • Excellent CLS integration within squad. CLS was able to triage while other members moved patient and then secured area on multiple occasions
  • Tenacious building clearing despite overwhelming odds at the Construction Site aka the Castle
  • Squad protected rear banshee after breaking contact from the Castle - banshee was disabled but Pioneer-3 made a smoke screen to cover their repair and they were able to successfully get back into the convoy
Cons:
  • Didn't have good cohesion with our Banshee. Perhaps there is a net for squad-banshee comms?
  • Felt there was lack of coordination when we went in to clear the construction site. No clear shift fire moment, we were moving into the site and there were multiple danger close rounds for some time while we were in the kill zone.

Pros:
  • Communications were decent between the different elements, it felt like.
  • MOUT between infantry and Vics can always improve, but was good and led to no loss in vehicles.
Cons:
  • Contact reports could have been sent more frequently to ensure that other elements in the formation were aware of the types of contacts received, making it easier for them to understand the situation as it developed and take action on it.
