Pros:
  • Excellently set up operation, the word "Immersive" was used as a Pro for the first time in a while, contact level was good, AO's were well chosen and challenging.
  • The whole Gun-1 squad was switched on, Troopers executed their roles, FTLs worked the problems, people found work, casualties were low and Comms were great
  • Excellent work between the SL's tonight, PLT net was active, utilized for coordination, and all the SL's communicated effectively.
  • Had an excellent mix of experienced and newer Troopers and I am certain that some excellent training happened withing Gun-1.

Cons:
  • 30 minute reconsolidation was a bit much, but due to technical issues as well as pub player integrations it is understandable. The banter was top tier during this phase
  • Had 8x Law rockets fired past my nose on OBJ 2 despite a shift fire call being sent and acknowledged.
  • Too many force multiplying support assets. If Banshee-no Bison and vice-versa. I get that everyone wants to do their thing, but -6 only has so much bandwidth and either of those elements can easily MASCAS a maneuver squad if strict measures aren't adhered to.
  • PLT net was good tonight...but at times it was a bit crowded. There should be 6 people communicating on that channel, and 4-6 others monitoring. There is no reason I should be hearing Helios to -5 while I am mid-assault and trying to coordinate with other SL's.

Pros:
  • Really good FTLs. Had good communication the whole time and fireteams worked really well together
  • Public players worked well in the squad
  • Squads within the platoon worked well together
  • GMs did a good job getting troopers added to the squad. Added in multiple troopers on the fly who integrated well

Cons:
  • Major connectivity issues
  • Reported lack of contact. Partially due to low contact levels, partially due to some confusion on my end getting us into the right positions in time, specifically transitioning from OBJ 2 to OBJ 3. One time also had a disconnect while setting charges for breach.
  • Sometimes felt as though we had extra traffic on platoon net which made it hard to decipher
  • Troopers noted up to 30 minute wait times to get brought to AO after joining, even when the squad was sitting at the FARP. Would be nice to see a quicker integration into the squad

Pros:

  • Great work within Helios cooperation and cohesion. Executed fast and efficiently as needed, provided support as needed.
  • Quickly adapted to anything in our way whether supporting or dismantling and building up FARP without much mess or chaos.

Cons:
Very little for Helios to do as a whole, so lot of down time besides the very end with the base defense and giving fire support for the GUNSLINGER assault element.

Pros:
  • Was able to organize a group of mostly public players into three machine gun teams
  • Communications and organization, given the circumstances, was good.
  • Having a GM at spawn to organize late joiners was extremely helpful
  • Cats were successfully herded
Cons:
  • Joined late and missed the first objective.
  • Some public players started teamkilling at the spawn area
  • Took a long time to kit up my squad due to them trickling in one at a time.
  • Long halt between first and second objective
  • Some bad driving occurred, causing collisions

Pros:
  • Communication with HQ elements as well as Bison was excellent
  • The strikes that were called in did very well and were effective
  • Bison was cleared Type 3 on SE and SW of OBJ1 and was effective at repelling several inbound vehicles and a QRF force
  • Bison switched roles from CAS to FO during the final Objective and was able to direct artillery rounds onto the Objective.
  • Mission creation was good, the immersion was well received by most troops

Cons:

  • As stated during AAR, the last objective had two CAS calls on it before entry was made. No forces were inside the walls at the time of the final rocket run and I was tracking the rounds coming from the aircraft.
  • The implementation of the FAC/JTAC role seems to be misunderstood by non-aviation leadership as well as the effective use of CAS during a mission. Without becoming a jerk about the entire thing, care should be utilized to ensure that all elements have at least a basic understanding of the implementation of CAS/FAC/JTAC before attempting to use it.
  • Pilots and JTACs need to be on the same page and utilize approved calls for fire. If you are not trained in the standardization of Calls for fire (5 lines etc), please ensure that you do your homework ahead of time and make the effort to learn before taking the role.
  • The use of Mortars was not briefed ahead of time, and the inclusion of IDF was prioritized over the slotted CAS asset during the latter half of the mission.

Pros:
  • Communications were fantastic after SSG.Taylor.C stepped in for communications between Buffalo and Gunslinger.
  • A big thank you to the GM's (CPL.Zimm.L, and SPC.Pearl.F) for staying at or near MOB and helping new players that joined late. Yes, there was a friendly fire incident but that seemed unavoidable from Buffalo's perspective. They were very helpful and kept the cats from wandering about.
  • Thank you to those that rode with Buffalo for being clam, cool, and collected while flying. Communication in the back was minimal yet, helpful at times. It was nice to have groups that understood communications discipline while flying.

Cons:
  • Communication between Buffalo and the initial RTO was non-existent.
  • Tasking for Buffalo was minimal at best. The briefing suggested that Buffalo would be carrying out supply runs after the FARP was established. Personally, I thought that was a nice touch that could spark communication and teamwork between Buffalo and Helios. However, since supplies were turned off, there was no need to run supplies. Additionally, there were no supply points to resupply from which made going through the motions impossible as well. We would have enjoyed running supplies intermittently with running reinserts. Having to keep the mortars and FARP adequately supplied could have been a nice touch.
  • There was absolutely no communication between Bison and Buffalo for the entirety of the OP. Unfortunately, there were also no chances where I was able to talk to Bison face to face to remedy the issue. I was forced to switch to platoon channel to indicate red air to Bison while actively avoiding the attack from red air.
