Hello, and goodbye!
I apparently got silently AWOL discharged last month and I forgot to write in the "Super Awesome AWOL Avoidance Thread".

With no one barely noticing, this tells me it's time to move on. I want to apply for Retirement status if possible.

I've been in the Cav since 2014 — almost 11 years. It has always felt like my second home, even though I have mostly been working in the shadows with cScripts and the community modding part of things. But since the move over to Arma Reforger and its engine, I've been struggling to wrap my head around it.

I feel sad that this happened, but I think it's better that I leave/retire than continue to struggle on with limited time.

I've enjoyed the S3 department and what I've managed to achieve, and I've always tried my best to keep the game experience for our community at its best, with ups and downs, which are natural when it comes to code and development. I will miss the Cav, and honestly, I've felt like I've been missing the Cav for the past year already.

So I guess this is goodbye.

Thank you for all you did for Arma 3 over the years. I never went unnoticed with what you did. Hope to see you return for Arma 4 🤞

Not sure what is meant by silent discharge as BN staff have tooling to send up PM notifications etc. That said if you want to appeal a discharge classification, a wide-band forum post isn't the paved path for that.

Please send a forum PM to Genstaff as covered here

-------

Appealing a Discharge Classification

Discharge classifications can be appealed.

Conditions of Appeal

The classification of any discharge may be appealed under the following conditions:

  1. The trooper must appeal the discharge classification in writing, either by email or the private messaging system within the forums.
  2. The written appeal must be received within 30 days of the discharge.
  3. It will be the responsibility of the appealing party to provide evidence and statements supporting their appeal. The Regiment will not force any of its members to appear on a Trooper's behalf.

Review Authority

All discharge classification appeals will be reviewed by the entirety of the General Staff, with a final decision being given by the Regimental Commanding Officer.

Note: My intent in redirecting you to the proper method isn't to dismiss you in anyway. More a case of, this post is easily missed in the hundreds of other new posts / replies per day. I want to avoid creating a side-road where folks get requests worked directly like this, and then we miss one at some point in the future, and someone gets mad cause "I posted it there, and ya'll have responded to them from there before" type deal.
