Pros:
  • Great patrol movement and good actionable intel gathered on multiple points of interest
  • Team leads had great communication and team control
  • Fire control and contact reports were outstanding
  • completed a good fire and maneuver when engaged with a larger force

Cons:
  • we coordinated movement and deconfliction between squads and it was mostly good, but could still be improved/quicker. had a couple times where squads were running into each other
  • I got a bit lost at the LZ since we came in last and had the squad split.

Pros:

  • Good movement within squad filling out holes in the PB's defenses with squads moving out.
  • Good Platoon Comms
  • Good coordination with other squads during squad assault on KT2
  • Got to do the AAR in a trailer house

Cons:

  • Start of the op for the first hour and a half had nigh no contact anywhere near Bandit-2 or at the PB
  • Lotta Dc'es which led to one of my teams being entirely invisible to shactac

Pros:

  • Everyone enjoyed the FTX
  • Good communication between FT's, other squads, and leadership
  • FTX was well-planned. Map markers were great, everyone knew what they were doing / supposed to do.
  • Succession of command was good when casualties were taken
  • Reacted to contact great, Bandit-1 broke contact from IDF and reacted to multiple patrols / neutralizing said patrols, and treating casualties while on patrol.
  • Patrol base security felt good, good spacing between teams.

Cons:

  • Lack of IR strobes made ID'ing friendlies difficult at times, however we utilized NVG IR illuminator to counteract that.
  • Couple ND's in Bandit-1, however those were due to bugs. (The mention of putting your weapon on safe to combat this doesn't solve the issue, as it is reoccurring and doesn't seem to fix itself until you disconnect, which is what was done.)
  • People were crashing pretty frequently
  • At some points, it felt like leadership just wasn't around. May have been because of the size of the PB.
  • Had one blue on blue due to an enemy getting between a patrol team and the PB, no casualties but both elements were cross firing.

Pros:
  1. pros from myself, great op Buffalo-2 (myself and Sahlberg) experienced a catastrophic rotor loss on a supply flight to LZ ford, upon impact we lost a passenger and a member of our crew. after impact buffalo-2 was met in the field expeditiously by friendly units belonging to misfit platoon. after a successful recovery of living crew members and any equipment that could be carried Buffalo-2 scuttled their airframe, at which point the PIC Private first class Utter.M and Master Sergent Westcott.R who had fallen behind the other members of Misfit platoon due to the PIC having a broken leg, immediately began taking fire. remaining members of buffalo-2 were instructed by Misfit platoon to break contact up hill towards a defensively postured friendly force. with the crew of buffalo peeling towards friendly position Master Sergent Westcott.R singlehandedly suppressed and held the advance of a overwhelming enemy force advancing on the injured crew of buffalo, keeping pace with crew and escorting them through sustained grenade launcher RPG-7 and assorted small arms fire effectively covering their retreat and enabling their eventual CASEVAC. once buffalo-2 had reconnected with the friendly defensive position, with the covering fire of misfit platoon aswell as the precision bursts from the door gunner Private Sahlberg, Specialist Walmsley.F expertly landed in a small natural clearing adjacent to some ruins through the threat of small arms fire and successfully EVAC the grounded members of Buffalo-2.
  2. from private Sahlberg, sahlberg and myself completed operations without casualties
  3. from Specialist Walmsley running troop inserts into the field is always a welcome chance to apply our training and preform to our fullest capabilities as pilots

Cons:
  • some members experienced connection issues causing them to miss some portions orf the op, or being seperated from their crew
  • we did have one instance of landing and suppressing with the DG to land troops and supplies in a hotter zone, both members of buffalo flight mentioned more of this would be welcomed
  • it was also expressed in conditions of dense foliage and night, fog or other low visibility conditions, signal flares are preferrable for quick identification of landing zones pickup zones or other air to ground signaling uses in these conditions. in the event flares are unavailable high power IR laser is preferable to IR illuminators or flashlights due to the fact it is difficult to distinguish from the air which flashlights are which infantry group or even further, whether they are friendly flashlights in the first place.

Pros:
  • Fantastic work by Misfit Platoon! All training objectives met or exceeded, and solid execution by all Troopers.
  • Platoon movements was well as Company movements were actually pretty fluid for once! Formations were as good as can be expected given the terrain.
  • THE BASICS WERE ON POINT! Trigger discipline was superlative (holding fire on OPFOR within 5m until ordered to engage!), fire commands given and followed, Battle drills executed, buddy/fireteam bounding, squad bounding....It was all just top notch work!
  • Solid comms work all around, SL-SL work was excellent.
  • Excellent work on the Recon patrol by M1, and superb FRAGO by M2 to CSAR Buffalo pilot and successfully exfil them back to PB.

Cons:
  • Misfit being Misfit and slow to break contact...but we did get it done.
  • I feel like for FTX purposes we could have skipped the infil flight and started straight from the LZ or PB. I get that we were showing love to our elevated brothers, but we could have shaved 45 mins off the beginning and been able to cover more ground.

Pros:
  • Great communication amongst Squad/Platoon.
  • Enjoyed amount of enemy contact the second half of the FTX.
  • Good coordination.
  • Everyone had fun.
Cons:
  • Confusing squad 'switching' 'filling in' throughout the FTX.
  • Did not like the map at night.
  • Intel confusion in the beginning of the FTX.
  • Crashed Heli right at the beginning of the FTX.

Pros:

  • Fast rollout
  • Good coms and coordination on platoon, always knew where to position myself
  • Close movement to the combat element
  • Air assault operations are cool
Cons:
  • Was the only medic, and therefore limited in what I could carry
  • No ambulance or other treatment facility available to provide advanced treatment
  • Some infantry carried a medical box (which isn't intended), rendering the role of a platoon medic beyond carrying bandages useless
  • ---> No casualties were treated by me, CCPs weren't used by patients

Pros:

  • Good Squad-to-Squad to communication on platoon net
  • Good formations and movement to Gate
  • Followed planned path on patrol route to perfection
  • Good flex to side objective of recovering downed Buffalo personnel
  • Decent Break Contact performed, good use of smoke
  • No red or black casualties

Cons:

  • Break Contact should have been a quicker
  • Formations and movement were good but spacing could use some work, had to remind squad to flex to appropriate distance in different terrain
  • Could use more FTL-to-FTL communication, I am continuing to emphasize this in 2-2
  • Would like to use challenge and pass in future night time/limited visibility situations

Pros:
  • Good communication throughout the platoon during the operation.
  • Good work by Bandit Platoon! All training objectives were met, and solid execution by all of the troopers.
  • Platoon enjoyed the FTX.
  • FTX was well-planned. Map markers were great; everyone knew what they were supposed to do.
  • Patrol base security felt good, good spacing between teams.
  • Good coordination between squads in the platoon during the platoon assault on KT2
  • Helios was fantastic in clearing an LZ and providing security for it.
Cons:
  • The lack of IR strobes made identifying friendlies difficult at times; however, the platoon utilized the NVG IR illuminator to counteract this. We had no "blue on blue" casualties occur throughout the entire operation.
  • The lack of personnel made conducting multiple patrols difficult during the FTX.
  • The first buffalo crashing on the LZ caused a bit of a delay in platoon movement off the LZ.
  • The company's mutual support range was too stretched out, making proper protection of the PB difficult.
  • I failed to find much for Helios to do during the operation.
