Pros:
Okay Scoop
We had an okay time
Fun to get a enemy helicopter kill at the second FOB.

Cons:
Lack of People.
Lack of Organization and plan because of last minute Hitman and Viking-5 leadership.
No Viking - 6, so lack of coordination in the platoon and with other platoons.
Viking - 5 leaving as we were organizing and Lucander as driver having to take over.
Cancelled hill top SBF.
Medical being under me after convoy and not organized by Hitman.
Issue with miss identification of friendly helicopters next to MI8, SAM getting shot at Buffalo Flight tail...

Pros:
  • Great communication between the Flights as well as Sparrow Flight
  • Good navigating by a navigationally challenged 2nd Lt during the insert as well as finding additional LZ's
  • Excellent fires by the Buffalo Crew to support Pioneer as they assaulted the objective
  • We prepared for supply runs very well, even though we ended up not needing it
  • Buffalo - 1 took a SAM to the tail of the aircraft and was able to extract without total loss
Cons:
  • I got shot by an enemy on the ground because I flew to close to the ground

Pros:
  • We were absolute bloodhounds, put down at least a platoon strength force with a single 240b with no loss of friendly life
  • Worked well with the platoon overall and was able to work effectively to support friendly units
  • Clearing a building with a 240b is fun

Cons:
  • Platoon as a whole was extremely overworked and stretched too thin. Going after platoon-sized objectives with just 11 people is not conducive to good planning and execution, no matter how good your leadership and your troopers are
  • Should have condensed down the company to a single platoon or planned to operate the platoons much closer together

(I'm missing one trooper because I kept getting trickled in troopers during the start of the Op)

Pros:

  • Enjoyed breaching a compound and performing a hot drop with Banshee
  • Alpha fireteam had a good time
  • Both fireteams completed their orders when given to the best of their abilities

Cons:

  • Multiple leaders giving contradicting orders
  • LZs are not being marked and no reinsert plan for the Op
  • Op felt short
  • The platoon and company in general felt confused and uncoordinated throughout the Op
  • Wasn't aware of a VIP being in the AO until halfway through the Op
  • Alpha was separated from me for 70% of the Op because of incorrect banshee tasking

Notes: We should prioritize single platoon Operations unless we think we will have overflow. I would rather have 3/4 of a platoon then 1/4 of 2 platoons being active in the AO. We need to have one voice guiding us in this Op whether it be CC or PLs or PSGs, if we have multiple people trying to run a platoon it's going to make it harder and confusing for everyone underneath.

Lets learn from this and fix how operations are conducted moving forward, and lets start implementing some ways to encourage and train JNCOs and NCOs to becoming PLs and PSGs in future Ops so we can have that leadership.

Pros:
  • Good time in the element
  • Good situational awareness
Cons:
  • Not a lot to do (1x Red Tag, 2x yellow tag)
  • Most of the casulties we encountered where black tag on arrival
  • Traffic accident at the start of the OP
  • Some parts of the terrain where hard to safely move around in the car (while easy for the Bradleys)
  • No clear information where Viking-7 was supposed to go or follow for most of the time

Pros:
  • Good communication with the platoon and with Buffalo on the G2A.
  • While we did not complete our mission, fun concept and the crew that was with me was good.
  • My second squad was essentially just a 240 gunner and his assistant, they put in some work covering the assaulting element.
  • I believe my planning would have been more effective if I had the numbers to support it.
Cons:
  • Understrength and overworked platoon for only 11 troopers total. It didn't make sense to have two understrength platoons, it made both our jobs harder.
  • Lack of coordination with Viking platoon, Viking platoon wasn't aware of the VIP on target.
  • Didn't have a 5, so I was coordinating reinserts, resupply, ISR and other buffalo taskings. Didn't have enough time to even check in on ACE reports with everything going on.

Pros:
  • Good communication within platoon.
  • Interesting concept
  • Good buffalo reinserts
Cons:
  • Were taking on platoon sized objs with 9 guys + 2 man SBF.
  • Felt disorganized, felt closer to a pub server op
  • Fireteams were disorganized after squad wipes and first contact. ~3 almost full squad wipes.
  • A lot of on the fly fragos. Troopers were left unsure of the next obj. Needed more structured transitions after contacts.
  • SL to take the time to brief troopers before moving to the next objective, or at least FTLs before stepping off to improve team cohesion.
