Element Callsign: Gunslinger-1
Element Leader: Private First Class Nance.T

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Casey.W
Corporal Bull.T
Private First Class Valiante.M
Corporal Robinson.S
Private Zin.A
Specialist Mulcahy.R
Private First Class Hartshock.P

Pros:
  • Assault of boats went well, everyone enjoyed pushing through the tower
  • Fire teams did a good job working together to clear the deck of the first ship.
  • Fire teams flowed well through the bridge of the ship. And did not kill the civilian
  • FTLs did a good job of taking control of the squad when actual was killed.
  • 6 did a great job of keeping everything on the rails. Appreciate leadership realizing when the mission was at an end and calling it quits when they did.

Cons:
  • Squad was involved in back to back helicopter crashes.
  • Some troopers could do better sticking with FTLs (mostly randoms so an expected issues)
  • Squad was given a large area of dense forest to hold security on, probably too much for our manpower
  • Had troopers split from the squad on landing on the first ship and were never seen again
  • Could use work reacting to contact and breaking contact in the trees.

Non Cav:
Hot Mic (unsure if he is cav)

Pros:
  1. had fun once we were involved
  2. had great experience running as PLT Medics with the amount of casualty's and downed members gave us a lot to do
Cons:
  1. first part of the op we did nothing got told to put a CCP up on the beach and sat around for an hour
  2. LZ not cleared leaving the PLT medics to defend it didn't work very well

  • The first objective was crisp
Cons:
  • 4 Radio channels
  • We got bogged down towards the end and pulled out the objective
  • Some comms issues due to range

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT
Name of Combat Mission: Firefight Friday July 25
Element Callsign: Gunslinger-3
Element Leader: Private Chilly.C - Specialist MacMillan.M

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
  1. Private Ross.S
  2. Private First Class Swiger.X
  3. Sergeant McAllen.J
  4. Recruit Pearl.F
  5. Sergeant Smith.DM
  6. Private Tremblay.J
  7. Private Jones.RD
Non-Cav Members Present:

  1. Heath (unsure if completed BC) Rachmaninoff.S
  2. DomeShot (unsure if within 7Cav)

Pros:
  • Great communication from all callsigns, especially Gunslinger-6.
  • Good react to contact from Gunslinger-3, as well as the rest of the platoon.
  • Proper succession of command was demonstrated throughout the operation, especially going into OBJ 2.
  • Cargo ship objective for a FFF was a refreshing and unique approach for an operation.
  • Effective resupply on island for airfield OBJ.

Cons:
  • Grouped up LZ's on first OBJ (Cargo Ship Bravo) was too congested. Splitting up the ships for a FFF of that size (attendance) would provide for a better experience.
  • Need more de-confliction of squads on a objective of that size.
  • If individuals have signed up for a specific role, please allow time ahead in order to give those individuals the role that has been assigned.
  • Radio etiquette for second OBJ.

Element Callsign: Raider-1
Element Leader: Utters.M

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element PVT.Reddick.A

Pros:
  1. had fun helping out with fire support and delivering troops on the boat as buffalo at the beginning
  2. Raider-1 completed mission with no casualties
  3. eliminated 2xShulka confirmed
  4. 1x Brdm confirmed
  5. 1x M-18 confirmed 1x possible
  6. eliminated one OPFOR controlled UH-60 Blackhawk
  7. as well as minor infantry squads.
Cons:
  1. AH-64D apache "longbow' does not have the fix for the big green square yet so night time is difficult sometimes, we overcame this obstacle but it rendered our AIM9 stingers unusable during any night or low light conditions
  2. reddicks only negative was that the FLIR gunner vision present on the "littlebirds" is not present on the AH-64D and all multifunctional displays except the ammo counter for the pilot is purely decoration.
  3. in conditions of tall dense tree canopy our overhead vision cannot be utilized to see enemy presence well, furthermore signals with smokes are very difficult to distinguish, green on green is not very easy to spot from 3-4 thousand up, the situation is compounded when attempting to signal with smoke grenades in the forest at night. in these conditions i would ask to see more use of red and green signal flares or starburst flares from UBGL.

Non-Cav Members Present:
  1. 6autumn

Pros:
  • Great communication from all callsigns & inter-helicopter coms.
  • Interesting mission concept using the boats & a far off island.
  • Was able to swap roles with my CP due to having game issues.

Cons:
  • Co-Pilots are unable to take control if a Pilot goes down.
  • Arma'd by Reforger hitting 100% CPU for ~3 second intervals causing Helicopter crashes.
