Pros:

Good initiative on SL to work towards my goals as OIC.

Good level of fights with a hard but fair enemy.

Coordination of support elements tasking and use sky rocketed with the addition of Bandit - 5, that could focus on calls for fire and BDA's.

i liked the exiting rocket runs from the enemy MI8 rocket hip, but with that came the realization from me and 6R, that when enemy air is present in AO's, then we need to plan and dedicate a unit that is tasked with hunting helicopters with stinger and/or gun platforms.

Cons:

Limited amount of platoon and company staff.

Medical team with medical vehicle is needed for all Reforger operations and i strongly recommend that we add it as a SOP.

Enemy mortar fire was too overwhelming and slowed down phase 3 by at least 30 min, as medical had to drive and heal the whole field and resulted in more then 10 mass casualty incidents on the airfield assaults, with a high degree of deaths and didn't feel like fun game play.

Phase 1 OIC briefing could have used a better focus on what were important to know for the OIC and not a small text of Key terrain.

When running continues operation please call the Key terrain different names over the Phases, as 10 series 20 series 30 series and so on, so for the first phase KT 11, 12, 13 so on and for second phase 21, 22, 23 so on, as its hard to do briefings where you do continues and have to move slide between the phases.

Pros: Squad was very cohesive consisting of two small fireteams almost entirely of 7 Cav members from 3/C/1-7 and worked well together, completing objectives quickly and adapting well to high pressure from enemy forces.

Platoon command adapted well during this phase to extended pressure while performing multiple difficult taskings at one time and juggling radios.

Cons: There were a lot of delays due to overuse of enemy mortar fire on danger close positions for the enemy, leaving us under mortar fire while taking close enemy contact less than 75m away, this
caused the vast majority of our casualties.

Bandit 2 felt underutilized as a primary infantry element for close engagement purposes, partly due to delays in logistics and the capturing of KT05 taking an extended period of time.

Mortar definitely didn't feel fully utilized
Lack of BDAs left us in the dark on effect of some missions

Pros:
  • 3-man rolling communications hub/Demo team and had a TON of fun doing a LOT of work
  • Good comms with Buffalo, Odin, and Helios.
  • Demo'd 6x OPFOR vehicles, 1x downed Buffalo, and 5-6 mortar tubes
  • Lots of tasking for Odin (preplanned TRPs and CFFs) and Buffalo (ISR, CAS, inserts).
  • Pre-planned LZs worked a treat for Buffalo.

Cons:
  • BDA's to Odin weren't always available to be passed. A lot of our CFFs were on pre-planned targets and I called them in where I was hearing OPFOR IDF firing from. Odin was super effective though on the few BDA's I could pass. They had to put 60-70 rounds down range.
  • Even with 3x people on 2 radios each we were becoming task saturated at times with comms.
  • The RU Mi-8 just has too many rockets and was overused by GM IMO. It pinned 2 squads down for 30 mins and killed another squad entirely.
  • OPFOR arty was a bit much.

Pros:
  • Had a blast, good crew to play with. Everyone enjoyed themselves!
  • Even though I missed a good chunk of the briefing, we did very well.
  • Airfield assault was spectacular and lots of fun.
  • ACE Medical is hit or miss but it is nice to need to fight to keep people alive.
Cons:
  • Was in and out of the briefing as I wasn't slotted for SL originally, didn't catch most of the plan.
  • Chaotic & disorganized operation, at least at the beginning.
