Pros:

  • Communication was excellent within the aircraft and between the other aircraft and Chaos
  • Interesting concept with the rainy weather and background information
  • Damaged aircraft made it back to base a couple of times
  • CSAR conducted was good, a water extract even
  • Identified Mortar Position and engaged with good effect
  • Fun time was had by all
Cons:
  • It seemed that the helicopter was targeted a lot by enemy forces
  • Limited visibility due to the weather
  • Loss of 3 aircraft due to Main Rotor Failure, the game does not support any type of autorotation or ability to recover from such an emergency
  • When landing after Pilot was taken out, the yaw control was damaged and we couldn't land without serious damage (skill issue)

Pros:
Guys enjoyed it
Quick turn around on fire missions

Cons:
Had a recommendation of moving mortar pit during missions that are quiet to give heli crews something to do
Lack of BDA for most of the mission so wasn't sure if rounds were effective or not
Odin should probably be paired with Loki to take some of the leeway off of Chaos having to constantly switch channels between the Air nets and coordinating IDF
Lack of manpower led to only 1 tube being fully manned

Pros
  • We got a lot of action! Everyone had fun and shot a lot.
  • Platoon & Section communication were good!
  • Lots of new people. Still learning the terminology.
  • New troopers are enjoying having to manage ammo & supplies.
  • Completed some nice react to contact and hasty attacks.
Cons
  • One of the GL's felt like they didn't enough use due to the ranges.
  • When moving up hill towards the MG nest, Bandit 1 identified and held position. The rest of the Platoon got bunched up on our position and spacing was non-existent.
  • Had several black tags.

  • 3 was not the reason ambush was scuffed
  • Platoon Comms were quite nice

Cons:
-
ND and Incident with Demo towards end of op.
- 1x not enough contact (there was plenty)

Pros:
  • Troopers had good time in operation
  • Troopers learning logistics and how we work
  • Got some obstacle reduction in today with roadblock
  • Team communicated and did well tonight. Good crew
  • CP was built well
Cons:
  • Some lack/miscommunications between squads/platoon where a minefield was placed but not relayed plus troopers in proximity of minefield. This led to casualties from clearing minefield
  • Low traction for vehicles due to rain and hills
  • Bad request for MG emplacement on hills. Inaccessible due to terrain, heavy vehicles and low traction
  • Missing supplies when RTB for supply run

Element Callsign: BUFFALO - 1
Element Leader: Specialist Crimzon.E

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
PIC - Specialist Crimzon.E
CP - Recruit Parker.A
CC - Specialist Carr.W
DG Chief Warrant Officer 3 Mullins.R

Pros:
  • BUFFALO- 1 & BISON- 1 Had a Ace Combat Style Dogfight against an Armed MI-8
  • No Airframe lost despite multiple instances of heavy MG fire and a Dogfight.
  • Communication with HITMAN - 7 was Good and on Point
  • BUFFALO - 1 Performed a dozen reinserts
  • Crew Communication and Function overall was good
  • Enjoyed a slight bit of IFR
Cons:
  • Dogfight ended in either a close mutual rocket kill between the MI-8 and BISON or a collision
  • "Felt" like the Enemy was rather aggressive with the Aircraft Targeting / MGs etc
  • Pilot and Co-Pilot felt left in the dark due to lack of OP info and direction for Buffalo-1 within the Opord and briefing.
  • None of the Information talked about by one of the S3 Day prior, was relevant to our Actions and tasking within the OP
Adding on, with no clear sense of directive, other than the default BUFFALO Tasking, it was rather boring for the crew.
  • Communications Ranges ( Lots of Out of Range Transmissions )

    Crew to PIC Feedback:

  • Gave Copilot too much information in a short period of time.
    • Call out Evasive Actions to help with gun angles (Dogfight)

Element Callsign: Misfit-6
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Mitsuma.R

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:

  • Overall attitude was a bunch of positives from the troopers.
  • 1 New Recruit who enjoyed the experience.
  • Mostly positive reviews of communications between Squads and Platoon.
  • While initial plan went up in smoke, no hostile forces made it past our initial line.
  • We had a very good turn out and were able to open up an unplanned squad - having 4 separate Misfit elements. Good fun.

Cons:
  • No PSG, No RTO, ####-it we baahl.
  • Supply plan devved out in leadership brief a couple days before did not make it to the supply guys in game. They weren't aware of mines. They weren't aware of needed path. They weren't aware gun placements weren't going to be accessible and would require them to coord with Zeus. After about 20 minutes of them setting up CP they finally showed and blew up our mines, they were on the ASR contact was imminently expected to come down, and in the end Misfit got no MGs nor roadblocks.
    • We should not break out into individual teams with individual briefs if we require the use of assets that have to support those plans and can't be in three different briefs at once.
  • At least four (4) Friendly Fire incidents by friendly helicopter units with at least two rocket runs whereMisfit 1 lost as many as three troopers and Misfit 4 narrowly survived another during their retreat.
  • No plan survives contact with the enemy, but the entire ambush plan went out the window with a squad engaging despite under strict no fire orders. Twice ordered the squad to pull even further back at a second attempt to lure the enemy in, twice heard the SL echo me, and twice did a GL continue to engage vehicles rolling down the road, further kerfuffling the entire event.
    • Troops need to practice their maneuvers and strict adherence to ROE. SLs need to hold them to it, or I need to be allowed to take people behind the barn out back, only instead in the field, and in the moment.
  • Unintentional mass cas in Misfit 3 due to a pubbies unfamiliarity with explosives.
    • Maybe only allow Cav members to handle explosives.
