Pros:
  • Really fun
  • Really enjoyed it, fun hearing all the radio nets operating. Operating resupplies was fun once we got going.
  • Logi did a good job after set up and some technical challenges on first 2-3 runs.
  • Comms adjusting on the fly splitting Arsenal and Supply made tasking more fluid and faster response.
Cons:
  • Lots of hiccups with Logistics at the start expected to be resolved by 1.3 update.
  • At the beginning: Not clear how to join a squad so confusion and anxiety and the bots versus players AI playercount issue.
  • Vehicle script killer was frustrating.
  • Local supplies - didn't know they were there, had to learn the hard way and thankful for infantry units informing us where they were through ATLAS-5/6.

Pros:
  • Great team work and Communication
  • Air to Air Victory over Russian Mi-8
  • Did some awesome work with CAS with my CC and DG while doing some orbital patterns over the AO
  • Great internal coms with the crew

Cons:
  • The initial start up was a mess but that's to be expected with our first ever PvE op
  • I think next time we do this it should be a private event until we can all understand what we need to do
  • Mission ran a bit longer than expected
  • We had some technical issues with the aircraft a few times but that's not on anyone else other than game mechanics

Pros:
  • Most of my feedback from the trooper level was that they enjoyed the mission regardless of hiccups.
  • Enjoyed the better organization that the cav provided.
Cons:
  • Many trooper level participants feel that they were discombobulated at start and could not find a group.
  • Hard Stop at start due to game limitation issues.
  • Coordinating with public players was hard and very dysfunctional.
Improve:
  • Utilize the auto generated radios
  • Utilize the 6 man group limit for elements.
  • Organize down to the trooper level on the website instead of just leadership slots
  • Better transport from the CCP to the line.
  • Better Prep with vehicles at start.

Pros:
  • Really exciting to have our first organized Reforger operation.
  • Zeus did a great job with setting everything up before the OP and during the OP. Great job guys, thank you Geki, Wescott and Blake.
  • The communication was pretty phenomenal in my opinion. Lots of positive remarks from public players, even heard "I LOVE the way you guys talk" at one point.
  • Overall a very solid OP, the pros highly outweigh the cons, and for it being the first actual OP, it was very, very well done and well executed.
Cons:
  • Mods will make these so much better. That's a given, though, and a dead horse being beaten. I know, I know, "with time"- I just have to throw it out there.
  • This would be a lot more fun in an official, Cav-only capacity. 95% of the public players that joined were amazing assets, but the few that weren't did make it annoying. I.e. two stealing a helicopter right from BUFFALO-1, shooting on base, shooting windows out of the helicopters to "prevent glare", etc.
  • I felt like there wasn't quite enough tasking for all three buffalo helicopters. And maybe next time we only have one or two armed birds and then two or three transport only ones- simply to increase capacity and aim/encourage for more formation flying/pairing for protection of unarmed birds during flight.

Pros:

  • Excellent communications between the Buffalo flight
  • The coordination between all flights was supreme. LTC Beiter (Buffalo 2 PIC) guided helicopters into the LZ with his flashlight when we couldn't see
  • The attack on the castle was Chefs Kiss from the air
  • I felt confident enough to pilot a helicopter and did fairly well with landings.
Cons:

  • I ran Buffalo-3 into a Dshka nest and got shot down. None of my crew survived
  • I ran my helicopter into another by not looking towards the pilot side of the aircraft. This led to 2 helicopters going down and the loss of my entire crew

Not a pro or a con, I gave control of Buffalo - 3 over to DeutschpferdSS towards the end due to having to go to work.

Pros:

  • Plan for Atlas Support Platoon was executed well
  • Good coms other Atlas elements
  • Overall good experience, being slotted as PL for the first time
  • Scarcity of supplies towards the end of the operations meant logistics actually had to be considerate on where and how to use supplies
Cons:
  • Chaotic & late start
  • Vanilla radio system really isn't great if one has to watch multiple channels, with no way of setting channels to one hear, or to tune it down etc.
  • Supply Trucks despawn shortly after dismount, causing some delays in delivering supplies

Pros:
  • Exceeded expectations for a first large PvE Reforger op; guys loved the OPORD, planning, and mission creation and execution.
  • Team leads did outstanding; responded to commands and taskings, maintained cohesion and combat effectiveness in their teams the whole time, integrated flawlessly with public players.
  • No blue on blue from our squad, troopers did great to ask if contacts are enemy when unable to PID.
  • Teams maneuvered well and spread out and de-conflicted with each other and with other nearby squads.
  • The public players we had performed well and did everything asked of them
  • TLs felt there was good direction given from the SL and good clarity in objectives
  • Great to get a chance to do an air assault on the castle, teams coordinated well to make it smooth and the guys enjoyed it
  • Had multiple comments from service members praising the milsim and realism of the op who thought it felt similar to real military work.
Cons:
  • Some initial staging confusions between the restart and figuring out slotting on the fly, but that was soon sorted out.
  • Squad radio was at times slightly disorganized, but we also had many newer members and public players who are not aware of radio standards.
  • One of the helicopter door gunners fired at us in the castle and it appears we had a third buffalo that was public and may not have been on radio? Could benefit from tighter controls of aircrew slotting and rules (like ensuring all aircrew have positive radio checks with controllers/leadership)
  • Could've improved the team formations when moving, they were pretty loose at times.
