So first off... I'm struggling with this game. I really want to give it a fair chance but a couple things are starting to really eat at me. First, I don't know why people do this, but when I'm playing often players call me "7thCav" which seems to hit a nerve. Not sure why but I am bothered when people don't use my online name. I understand wanting to represent the company by having your groups ID tag stuck to your name but honestly I just wish I could be known as plain ol' Virgil. I've even been called other things like when I was a recruit they called me "Rectal", and now as a private I've been asked what "Pfffffffttttt" (PVT) means.
Next is something that also eats at me. When you go to play, people just lock the squads so you can't get in. I've been that last player choosing a squad and I've seriously sat through half of the game waiting for that ONE squad who is at 5/6 players to let me in. I understand people wanting to lock the squads because of giving their friends the roll they want but there should be something in place that times that lock out.
Next... I usually play support. Too many times I'm asked to leave the role and let someone else take the role with the idea of letting someone else drop supplies and then I guess switch back and forth. The cool down for those supplies is like 2 minutes so to switch roles I have to re-deploy, I guess choose a role that hasn't been taken which is usually Rifleman. This tactic to me doesn;t make sense. To re-deploy it takes at least 20 seconds to get in the game and the role doesn't get switched back and forth as they say. I end up playing Rifleman the rest of the game. Just doesn't feel like the hassle is worth it and I'd rather just stay as that role. I can understand doing that with the Engineer role to build stuff and then move so someone else can build stuff but even that I am frustrated with. You can have several squads that have multiple engineers so there really shouldn't be a need to switch the role. I'd say that I would agree if it's about building structures but from the games I've played the neato bunkers and walls seem to be a waste of time. People would rather you rushing the next takeover spot rather then spending half the game building defenses that just don't get used. I've not found one game yet that has those bunkers built. Barbed wire fences I can see but again, multiple engineers, plenty or fences. Am I wrong here because it really does feel pointless to spend game time building structures that probably will never get used anyway?
The rule of no solo tanking does eat at me a little. It takes time switching seats and reloading ammo just to switch back to the driver seat. Since you can spawn multiple tanks, I don't understand why you can't solo tank. I understand you do much better in a 3 maned tank but I don't see solo tanking as being over powered.
Lastly... Is there a point to the jeep vehicle? I don't ever see that get spawned and used. I like it just because you can get places quickly and dropping ammo supplies is great! But you never see those jeeps get spawned and I'm worried if I asked for one they would just tell me its a waste of resources.
But again... I really want to give this game a chance but I can't shoot anyone for the life of me so I don't know what good I am other then riffle fodder, but if things keep eating at me I may end up losing interest in this game all together. I'm hoping things will improve.
