Pros:
  • Always a pleasure working with Viking-5.
  • Nice to have a surgeon as a buddy.
  • Decent medical coms on 56.
  • Good casualty calls provided on platoon net.
  • Enjoyable mission.
Neutral:
  • Felt like a lot of time in the vehicles for this one though understandable for the type of operation.
  • The map was perhaps a little bit too cluttered.
  • Slow to progress from AOI1 to AOI2.
Cons:
  • Viking-5 being relayed medical requests instead of directly to Viking-7 on platoon net from Viking-3.
  • Breakdown in communication leaving ATLAS-1 too close to the assault on AOI3 for a short time.

Pros:
  • All airframes did really strong work.
  • All infantry teams gave very good sustainment comms.
  • Successful extraction of the EPWS! None of them died
  • Really good use of the Mortars by -4
  • Very well put together mission with nice defensive elements and good flexing of the plan by -6.
Cons:
  • A few tactical missteps with elements moving out of positions that thankfully didn't slap us too much.
  • Minimal work for Medical teams, more than usual for a mech OP though.
  • 2 and 4 felt like they had light or awkward tasking at times

-couple of times A striker had cross fire and overhead fire over our squad and Striker nearly blu on blu but never produced casualties

Element Callsign: RAIDER-1
Element Leader: Lieutenant Colonel Dread.M

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Laui.M

Pros:
Good mission design (y)
Great working with a new copilot/gunner (y)
Decent engagement opportunities (y)

Cons:
Not a flaw of mission design, but with no masking ability we had to choose standoff and extremely limit target acquisition or place the airframe in danger. Mission support could have been done better with FW or using a RAVEN/SPARROW to sit back at altitude with better optics to identify targets with RAIDER running and gunning. We had fun regardless.

Pros:
  • Good communication from inner-squad comms, between teams.
  • Clearing, bounding, and buddy medical was spot on in the trenched position near the last objective.
Cons:
  • Not a lot of action, lots of just inside Stryker and supporting from afar and flanking at the last objective.
  • Not utilizing the vehicle as it's meant to be used and infantry to follow as parallel.
  • MOUT techniques as mechanized infantry were not done properly.

Element Callsign: VIKING-6
Element Leader: First Lieutenant Sam.T

Pros:

  • Good work from the squads.
  • Good work from Atlas.
  • Good flexibility
  • The mortar fire mission was executed well.
  • Overall, it was a solid mission and a fun campaign continuation.
Cons:
  • A few instances of delayed communication lead to slightly longer periods of downtime.
  • Some tomfoolery from the Atlas-1 driver at AOI-3 (driving into the assault and the RPG spam Viking-3 was taking).
  • Low initial turnout led to concerns about executing the OP plan, but late-joiners filled out the teams quite nicely.

Pros:
  • Really enjoyed this OP... great mission design... great OPORD. Excellent leadership.
  • Huge highlight for me tonight was our bird's Crew Resource Management (CRM) which was basically flawless. Just amazing teamwork... period.
  • Comms with VIKING-5 were on point.
  • EPOW exfil total success and fun to accomplish.
  • Really enjoyed training opportunity working with new RCT Griffin.Z ... so big welcome to him and his performance as DG tonight. Look forward to working with him more.
Cons:
  • Small radio glitch issue with LR52 but successfully managed well.
  • While I do enjoy this map, the terrain graphics were kind of glitchy and there was some lag performance issues encountered by our flight.
