Pros:
Good Mission
Rotary Flight commended enemy quantity/composition
Cons:
- Some F18s reported issues with Datalinks, where they could not see other flight members
- There were too many pauses/unpauses at the start of the mission
- Because the Tarawa is primarily being used as a rotary platform (within this mission), the cruise speed should be reduced to 12 knots.
- Improve the Tarawa's racetrack, so that it "trails" the rotary flight as they complete their mission.
- The mission was great, until the server crashed.
- Comms were cluttered at times, brevity codes should continue to be encouraged.
Significant Issue:
Server crashed half-way through the mission. This seems to have been a temporary network issue, as for a short time, S6 was unable to access the box to debug the issue. A short while later, connection to the box was resolved, however the operation server was not able to recover, and mission staff decided to end the operation for the day.
Notes:
- Reduce time spent on briefing. Highlight key points
- Include airfield chart in Opord
