Dread's Feedback

Pros:
  • Lots of individual squad movements that were amazing to watch from the overhead. Shout out to MISFIT-2 on striking directions on contact.
  • AI reacted exactly as I intended them. The hills were a trap for the Platoon. I knew if I could suck the Platoon into the forest fighting for nothing it would give enough time for the AI's triggered movement to push off the Objectives and reduce MISFIT's ability to support one another.
  • Amazing signups for positions.
  • Use of SPARROW seemed to go well until BLUFOR CAP wasn't present because of disconnects.
Cons:

  • I built the mission with four goals 1.) Test MH-47 2.) Challenge OIC in the planning of "how" 3.) Draw the Cav Platoon into close gun fights with peer to peer. We lose a lot of our advantages when we are online with AI that don't just stand in the open 300m away asking to get shot. 4.) Build an OP with ships that wasn't completely broken. I failed goal 4 miserably. Spent a long time testing respawns and teleporters to make sure it all worked. Never thought someone would try "picking it up". REDFOR CAP nukes the MH-47 at the start because BLUFOR CAP activated it and then disconnected. I still dont see a way around FW without an "Air Zeus" or we live with things like this are going to happen until someone figures out how to script AI threat table to pull transports off it. They nuke helicopters from across the map when there isn't an immediate threat no matter what skill or posture you put them in.
  • Some complaints about no AI on the buildings around the objectives. Its because most of them moved off the objectives and into the hills because MSIFIT was fighting there for an hour.
  • The "AI see threw trees" not factual. At four different points in the OP BLUFOR and REDFOR patrolled past one another. Even the AI SLs popped IR strobes on themselves for some reason. They shot at muzzle flashes. What really happen is the platoon movement was not in mutual support for almost the entire OP. So when a squad engaged they had nobody engage from their left or right. Essentially taking on contact entirely on their own.
  • Complaints about mag dumping into targets. It was peer to peer. I watched both sides mag dump into one another to get someone down. Not sure how to adjust that or if it needs to be adjusted at all. I watched troopers empty into a guy that eventually bled out. I watched a trooper tank four shooters one with an automatic weapon, and he didn't go down until he got flanked while bandaging.

Pros:

  • A lot of work for us to do when we were the only medical team.
  • Good coms with the squad and with 7.
  • Yay new mod pack!
Cons:

  • Felt a bit disorganized.
  • Took way too long to get going due to a multiple of factors.
  • Mission was great but felt like we were running around from squad to squad without a CCP.
  • Platoon movement left Atlas alone treating wounded and never gave us a chance to keep up with casualties.
  • 3km of terrain felt like it was more like 10 with the amount of back and forth we went.

Pros:
  • Seemed like a great op concept and wish I got to experience more of it
Cons:
  • Battleye. Only got to fly about 15 minutes out of 2.5 hours due to kicks, freezes, failures to load, etc. Shame because seemed like it would've been a lot of fun, and our technical issues resulted in rotary having to deal with SAMs that should've been handled by us

Pros:

  • A very fun mission.
  • Lot's of tasks for Sparrow
  • Great work from CHAOS coordinating us
Cons:

  • The boats are full of problems and aren't safe for emergency tail rotor failure landings. As well as hole's in the carrier, spawning and teleporting under the boats.
  • Anti-Air was unpredictable with a lot of painting and then a lot of missiles near the end, Sparrows have no countermeasures against missile and cannot do anything to defend except evade and pray.
  • ZU-23 survived several DAGR's and several Hydras including the guys manning them.

Element Leader: Specialist Hamm.C
Element Leader: Major Mackey.A

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Sparrow.P
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Spitnale.K

Pros:
  • Good mission from start to finish.
  • Challenging tasking throughout, challenging environments and terrain, and stick time to stress the capabilities of the new aircraft.
  • Comms across all support elements were great throughout.
Cons:
  • Size to landing ratio for the destroyer and the MH-47 were a challenge. It is possible, however it's difficult to land.
  • AA and Red Air threats knocked out multiple aircraft adding another layer of difficulty.
  • Learning the new aircraft takes time and certain parts were unfamiliar to the crew/pilot which caused issues. Was flushed out as the OP continued on.
  • Overwhelmed with tasking as 5 and Chaos. Would've preferred another element handle either element for fluidity.
  • Moving forward, we need to use the MH-47 Easy Action variant. Every other model only allows the pilot/copilot to interact with the ramp, this caused infantry to struggle exiting the aircraft if the Pilot was late to lower. Easy Action Model allows any individual within the airframe to raise/lower the ramp.

Pros:
  • Good crew.
  • Squad communication was good!
  • Interesting operation, fun idea. It was a good map to utilize the weapons squad and to cover the platoon movements.
  • MG's were working within their range.
  • Cool to see the Grizzly's.

Cons:
  • Shouldn't have had four fire teams in Misfit-4, we should have operated per the IHW training and had the two MG's and one MAWWS. Managing all four was overwhelming.
  • We were out of mutual aid the majority of the mission. The platoon HQ/Atlas was in one position/area and Misfit 1/2 were in another, meanwhile Misfit-4 was stuck in the middle, took no contact and just blocked the area for the majority of the mission. We were then requested for mutual aid to 1/2 taking heavy contact and were a far distance away from them.
  • MAWWS were underutilized during the mission.
  • The PLT was given full autonomy while 5/6 were at a different location dealing with mortars.
  • One MG team was requested to be attached to 1/2 for support, they had no communication with 1/2 due to being in different sections. I could not keep track of that and also manage my section.
  • While I am rusty after not doing this for a while, the execution of this plan was poor and can certainly be improved in the future. I would love to try this mission again in future!
