COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: VIKING-7
Element Leader:
First Lieutenant Sam.T

Pros:
  • Good comms on the medical net, good 6-lines etc.
  • Good amount of initial triage and casualty work form the perspective of -7.
  • Casualties that arrived in care we treated effectively and rapidly.
  • Actioned several CASEVACs using the command Stryker, always awesome to see!
  • The platoon as a whole was able to manage a lot of contact, at least it felt that way.

Cons:
  • The spread out platoon combined with the lower medical turnout led to several situations where medics were arriving on scene after casualties recovered or expired.
  • Issues with communication in relation to vehicles (unloading casualties that were under care, lack of effective handoffs, loading casualties into the wrong vehicles etc).
  • Atlas was obliterated by IDF along with most of Viking-4, and then while trying to figure out who could be EVAC off the X indirect WP hit us as well.

Pros:
  • An acceptable amount of contact
  • Teamwork between medics was well done.

    Cons:
  • Light medical, not a whole lot to do tonight
  • IDF landing on top of friendly personnel ruins the experience to those it effects especially if it is exactly on target.
  • The pacing was a bit erratic, felt very slow when it was slow with quick 15-minute bursts of action.
  • Vehicle Ops tend to get boring for Atlas personnel, since we are stuck in a vehicle a majority of the Op with nothing to do.

Element Callsign: Viking-5
Element Leader:
Second Lieutenant Narramoor.A

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Corporal Kastor.K

Pros:
  • Great work from Buffalo flight, some really skilful landings & fast drops
  • Really good security from all infantry elements. Good work from Sierra crews working off each-other and their squads.
  • Mission maker did some great work ambushing Sierras and putting the pressure on. Zeus' were present and always helping with technical issues.
  • 6's planning led to a really nice and entertaining diversity of contact.
Cons:
  • Quite a large gap in the platoon due to large AO affected situational awareness.
