Pros:
Communication was well done at the squad and command comms, although designators got muddled.
We moved well, attacked fast, and took objectives short-handed.

Cons:
Blue on Blue
Lack of contact and downtime between objectives
Some server lag

---- NOTE ----
This was a first attempt at a Squad based ZUES mission, with many participants from other departments brand new to the game.

Pros:
  • Everyone gave their full attention and respect to the mission making it a strong first attempt at a Zeus mission
  • Having a variety of assets mixed in our first mission e.g. CAS elements, Buffalo transport and Bradley support all together is an awesome mix
  • Pilots gave their best effort to the CAS communication despite difficulties with visibility and lack of markings
Cons:
  • Fire support was occasionally off target and resulted in blue-on-blue, CHAOS was not very vigilant on marking targets due to being new to Squad and being a guest to this AO
  • Night OP was perhaps an over-reaching goal for a first mission, BUT was intense and enjoyable nonetheless
  • Confusion on leaders net with callsigns debating using ingame squad numbers, or pre-assigned callsigns according to OPORD

Pros
  • Was incredibly immersive, the night-time was really great.
  • Really good job by mission makers in placing believable contact and managing the performance of the mission.
  • Squads did really great on their individual actions.
  • Chaos and airframes worked great together.
  • Really great working with guys from other AOs and the Squad guys. Thank you for letting me come along and lead this!
Cons
  • Been a while since I've played, so difficult to communicate information via marks etc. I think not being an 'in-game' commander contributed to this
  • Buffalo got downed a lot due to close-in LZ placements. My mistake.
  • Sometimes comms was difficult with infantry elements, most of the time it was great.
  • I joined in slightly 10 minutes or so late due to mod issues. Apologies for the slow-down at the start
  • Less foot movements to reduce downtime. A planning mistake from my part.
Lessons Learnt
  • Stick to in-game numerals to reduce communication problems for comms and marks
  • If unconscious, do we stop talking? Clarification needed.
  • Commanders need 3x pax in squad to enable, should they be integrated in a squad?
  • Mission pace was way slower vs Arma PvE standard, can design more dialled-in missions.

Pros
  • comms in platoon was good
  • night time was fun all around
  • good amount of contact for banshee for the op
Cons
  • DX11 or 12 issues for aviation
  • crashing at spawn to invis walls
  • server lag from bots remaining
  • blue on blue from cas
  • hard to do chaos with no sops
  • had to stop using callsigns to save confusion with mismatched numpad keys
  • clarify at pve events if dont talk while dead
  • lots of downtime in between contacts
  • contact or firefights were short
  • resupply and reinserts as well as talking while dead for future ops
  • slow start overall to the op
  • possible logi and fob once an obj is taken
  • more planning for vehicle repair and resupply
  • more inaccuracy shorter engagement distance (80% or higher for near-peer, 95%+ for insurgents)
