What's up folks.

Been a while since I was here, see some old familiar faces and a lot of new which is awesome!

A little about me.. I originally joined the Cav in 2010 where I enlisted with ArmA2, and was promoted to Private, and assigned as a Corpsman B/1/C/1-7 (Airborne all the way!). I was lucky to take part in various courses such as the Basic Armor Crewman Course, Advanced Individual Training, and Basic Jump School from an early start. I had a blast with 1st Battalion as we moved through different operations on a massive scale where I developed and utilized tactics and radio communication which the Cav taught me!

I always wanted to challenge myself to do more, and at the time we had a wide array of new games coming out, such as Call of Duty, and Homefront to name a few. I opted to help launch a new Battalion and joined C/2-7 and promoted to Specialist. In addition to the new company, I also took on more responsibilities as I joined Specialist Spitfire in the S1 Signature Shop. One of the most fun and rewarding opportunities I had at that time was being able to make graphics for friends which is a tradition I still see carried on today.

But, as we all know life happens, and finding that good balance is essential in all areas of our lives whether it be at home or with work. I took a brief leave and managed to addressed some family matters and found more time to dedicate back to the Cav. I came back and decided to try my hand at flying, and boy was that a wild ride. I was assigned Crew Chief A/1/A/1-7 and flew a few combat missions back with the 1st which was an unreal experience. All the while making new friendships which I still have to this day. In my time with Alpha Company I graduated NCOA and was promoted to Corporal. After a little while I missed my guys in Charlie Company, and being boots on the ground so I made the transfer back but this time as a Medic of C/2/C/1-7, and a few weeks later I took on the responsibility of becoming Section Leader of B/1/C/1-7.

A short time later I took part in Ranger Class 06-11, and after four months of wicked training and operations, graduated! While going through this training though, I received a Battlefield Commission to 2nd Lieutenant and assigned Platoon Leader of 3/C/1-7 and with all the movement and development the 1st was going through, ended up transferring to 2/D/1-7 in the same role. Many more operations with an amazing group of folks happened where we grew as gamers, friends, and Cav-mates. We shared in each others lives and over time grew closer as not only an online community, but people as well. After a little while I received a promotion to 1st Lieutenant and took on the responsibility of Executive Officer with C/1-7. I held this role for almost four months until I promoted to Captain. I had such an amazing time leading and participating in various operations. A few I recall we pushed ourselves to stay up into very early hours of the night.. Operation RedBullClip. That was one to remember for sure.

Around this time I decided I needed to re-focus my efforts on life again, and develop my career which at the time had been limited to freelance graphics design. I retired at the Command Level and attempted to balance work and my personal life. I absolutely loved the Cav and found I missed it too much, came back for a few months in a new role with different responsibilities, tried my hand in different areas but ultimately needed to prioritize myself.

I took a few years between 2012 and 2018 away from the Cav to try my hand at something different. Graphics design was super competitive and just not overly lucrative, especially to afford to live in the Lower mainland of British Columbia, Canada. So, I hung up my photoshop and decided to try out in the security field where I started as a security guard working at a local hospital. This opportunity gave me great skillsets which I developed as I worked my way up through a few different companies as a guard, site supervisor, field supervisor and ultimately a client service manager. Around 2018 I found I had a little more time to video game and decided to come back to the Cav, but my spare time was super sporadic and ultimately I just didn't have the time. I refocused on my career where I make the decision to leave security and begin a new job as a BC Correctional Officer which I held until 2020. Great experience which gave me the tools I had already been developing from my first moments playing with the Cav. My sound tactics, clear communication, and ability to operate under pressure. Albeit this was all accomplished in the safe confines of my home, and while playing video games, I adopted the same mentality into real life. After two years as a Correctional Officer I was offered a new position, where I started my current career as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police which I've been working with for the past 2.6 years (not including training which was hampered by COVID).

And here we are, where I find myself better organized, equipped and ready to spend some quality time with the Cav once more. I'm looking forward to getting better acquainted with you new folks, which has already been great! Major Mix, Captain Smithson, Lieutenant Cameron and Sergeant Robertson, you have all been so welcoming which I'm very grateful for!

And it's nice to see some old faces, General Chance, General Kleinman, Lieutenant General Burgundy, Major General Baeder, Colonel Grgich, Major Ratcliff, and Chief Warrant West, as well as so many others around that I may not have mentioned.

Sorry for the rant, well sorry not sorry. Missed you guys, hope everyone's been doing alright, see you out there!

Cheers.
