SUPREME HEADQUARTERS
ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!

You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!

I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory! Good luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

OPORD:

BRIEFING:

As the largest amphibious invasion in history begins, Dog Company, 2nd Ranger Battalion prepares to assault the key position of Pointe-du-Hoc and neutralize the German artillery battery there which threatens the main landing forces.

Faced with heavily entrenched German defenders, Dog Company must scale the extensive fortifications along the beach, neutralize defenses atop the pointe, and disable the artillery positioned there.

Company staff have AN/PRC-152's for Command Comms. Platoon RTO's have AN/PRC-152's for communication with company staff and AN/PRC-77's for intra-platoon comms. Each squad has an RTO with an AN/PRC-77 for platoon comms.

Infantry squads consist of x12 men with a Squad Leader, x2 Team Leaders, Radioman, Medic, BAR Gunner, Ammobearer, and x5 Riflemen. Each platoon HQ has a sniper attached.

While squad-level radiomen and per-squad medics are not historically accurate, they are included for gameplay convenience. Nobody wants to get shot and then go sit at a battalion aid station for the rest of the OP or wander around trying to find a CCP with no radio, no GPS, etc. Platoon and/or company staff are free to distribute medics as they please if they so wish; by default they are included attached to each squad.

There are 95 total slots; 85 Allied slots and 10 slots for German machinegunners. At time of briefing being concluded, if attendance is below ~50 people, Company HQ and 2nd Platoon may be folded and player slots on the German side will be cut. In this case, 1st platoon will be augmented with a 4th squad.

In essence; if attendance forbids two platoons, the force will be reorganized into one platoon with x4 12-man squads.

ANY UNCLAIMED SLOTS AT BRIEFING WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENT IN YOUR CLAIMED SLOT WHEN THE BRIEFING BEGINS 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO KICKOFF, YOUR SLOT WILL BE FORFEIT. YOU MAY NOT SHOW UP LATE AFTER THE BRIEFING HAS BEGAN AND KICK SOMEONE OUT OF THEIR SLOT. YOU MAY NOT CLAIM MULTIPLE SLOTS.

SLOT IN: 1800Z - 1830Z
BRIEFING: 1830Z - 1900Z
KICKOFF: 1900Z

(However, in case we are unable to fill most combat medic slot prior to the operation, I might switch)

No air slots? Then in that case we'll just have to start drilling the allied soldiers with Mauser rounds. German MG.

In general, I’d like to prioritize billeted personnel being in their actual slots. Also, officers are required to OIC 1 op/quarter and we need to make sure they’re able to reliably meet that requirement since we have 12 officers who need to be cycled through each quarter.

I’m going to take Dog-6 for this one to cover my own OIC requirement.
