Pros:
  • Lots of contact
  • Long operation
  • Solid comms
  • We felt we were apart of a bigger operation
  • Good cross-squad cooperation
  • Still challenging
  • Atlas was highly responsive
  • Zero black casualties

Cons:
  • We were undersized
  • Sometimes it felt like there was a disconnect between platoon and squads
  • Rough start in the beginning
  • Slow react to IDF

Element Callsign: Atlas-3
Element Leader: Specialist Ron Sypolt

Pros:
Great comms within Atlas
Able to be proactive on resupply despite high action mission
Good security from ground elements kept me alive the whole mission

Cons:
Difficulty finding airdropped vehicles remains an issue, need either BFT marks automatically or smoke/ir strobes attached to vehicles when dropped (or both)
Too many supply crates, ammo felt unlimited (to the point I was hurling HEDP AT-4s at infantry towards the end). Would prefer less ammo available initially and need to call in airdrop resupply.

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Corporal Dan Maco
Corporal Franck Dubois

Pros:
  • 2x POW
  • Op flowed well
  • Drop went well even tho we lost our vehicle
  • Great to see a use of All of Atlas callsigns. Would like to see pre planned FARP points for Atlas 4
  • Main force slowed down and didn't no rush that resulted in major casualties
  • Even tho no reinserts needed for Atlas 3 still good to see a use for infield resupply.
  • Amazing self care from 98% of the attendance.
  • Comms were over 15 with some busy points.
  • Atlas 1/2 preformed to the same standard we always do. Good to see the same people attending as medics you can rely on.

Cons:
  • Starter boxes at the base doesn't have full medical supplies has to get Zeus to sort us out
  • Vics airdropped are not easy to find a IR stroke or smoke attached when landed
  • Would like to see pre planned FARP points for Atlas 4.

Pro
  • Nice to see larger mission scale and an interesting objective (we should defend more after gaining ground!)
  • Another good part of an excellent campaign
  • UGVs are a lot of fun, we should use them more, especially as delivery tools for moving supplies into hotter zones
  • Op was way longer than usual 2h flat, less of a rush; IMO Ops should be allowed to go even 3h+, just mark them as such so that people can plan ahead
  • Had to quickly build structures at final objective to help against incoming enemy forces, they turned out to be quite useful
  • Good comms on 15 net
  • Hey, is that a T-90? It's active... AND LOOKING AT US! <coax burst goes between us and turns my UGV into a flaming marshmallow> with Bonder.L :D

Con
  • Had nothing to do but follow Mother Goose or play taxi for 3/4 of the Op
  • Never seen my HMMV after drop, just completely lost and unable to find / retrieve, drove around in the UGV
  • Security at holds was lax, rounds going past us often ignored, etc
  • At holds, I kept getting told "we're moving in a minute, don't bother" when I wanted to throw up structures... and then we kept not moving for 5, 10, 15 minutes at a time
  • I wasn't asked to make a single delivery of supplies from the UGV before it was destroyed (partially thanks to ATLAS-3 Sypolt.R being in the same area and doing a great job)
  • The initial brief indicated we would take and hold the CCP/HQ area for a longer time in the Op. Instead, we only cleared it after over 2hr mark - enemy forces were a bit too dense, especially vs. a severely understrength platoon; Misfit squads got bogged down with opposition and casualties.
  • The initial brief indicated an ambush of some sort ("interdicting enemy convoys", etc.) - there was no plan on how to conduct that ambush in the predefined area, how to prepare the grounds for it - this could have been something very interesting to construct for ATLAS-4, helping the ambush force to dig in, block off the road, etc.

Element Leader: Specialist Whitfield.L

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Whitfield.L
Reservist Gaspar.K

Pros:
  • x10 Red, x8 Yellow, x2 Black - Good Numbers for a 1-Life.
  • Good Comms on 15 w/ ATLAS Platoon & accountability.
  • GUNSLINGER-7 & ATLAS-5 did an excellent job dispatching ATLAS 1/2.
  • AR.Gaspar.K & I worked well together after he joined late.
  • Didn't mind hiking around on foot a lot.

Cons:
  • Bird assignment for ATLAS was messy & DZ wasn't ideal.
  • Could not find ATLAS HUMVEE after Paradrop due to chaos.
  • Ran low on supplies towards the end as a result of being on foot.
  • Operation scope was too large, never defend CP with low numbers.
  • No one needed a Banana

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Lacasse.P

Pros:
  • Fun to run Titan, as it is not often run
  • Was well coordinated and executed

Cons:
  • The airfield was way to undersized for a C-130, especially with it being night time and surrounded by trees making it a nightmare to takeoff and land.

Element Callsign: ATLAS-5
Element Leader: Sergeant Lorenzo Bonder

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Sergeant Lorenzo Bonder

Pros:
  • 2x POW saved (3rd one disappeared thanks to ARMA 3)
  • Good ATLAS comms on 15 + Misfit-7 and on 20 with command.
  • Outstanding mission design and concept, loved every idea of it.
  • High proactiveness from ATLAS units, to provide medical and logistical help.
  • When called upon, everyone in ATLAS were up in arms defending from enemy fire and securing the CCP and Platoon HQ, doing great work.
  • Self-care from Misfit troopers aided ATLAS 1/2 a lot.
  • Op length was perfect for the scope, I understand we crave for 2-2:30h tops, but this was a perfect spot for a 3h op.
  • Misfit-7 was tons of help on the ATLAS 1/2 call dispatching, organizing the asset usage and making them active.

Cons:
  • ATLAS lost 2 mission critical vehicles on the drop due to not being able to spot it in the night, a marker (Flare, smoke, Chemlight, something) could help in tracking the vehicles in a very wide open drop.
  • ATLAS-4 was pretty much stationary, useless until we got the Plt HQ/CCP. A few pre planned FARP could've helped. (I understand why that didn't happen)
  • Way too many enemy assets to deal with, slowing down the op was good, but the advance to the HQ was delayed a full hour because Misfit had to deal constantly with it.
  • Security at the RPs were lax at some points, again understandable due to mission flow and "picking up the slack"

Pros:
  • Lots to do
  • Good cohesion between UAV and JTAC element
  • 0 drones shot down, 1 attempt by AA
Cons:
  • 1 Drone lost -- For some reason tried to land back at airfield despite different orders
  • Could have used another drone operator. HC130 pilots were going to transition but unfortunately died. 1 operator for 3 drones for ISR and heavy CAS missions proved intensive.
