Element Callsign: Gunslinger-5
Element Leader: Specialist Ron Sypolt

Pros:
Good communications on platoon net
Multiple objectives led to interesting opportunities to split the squads for separate objectives
Watching Gann posing as a hostile sniper go flying was entertaining
ROE restrictions led to interesting choices in strategy

Cons:
ROE restrictions hard on Hog
Some confusion with motorpool and vehicle availability at the COP

Pros:
  • good ideas for mission design
  • nicely reflected ROE, hearts & minds, etc
  • good OIC planning
  • glad to see ATLAS-3 being involved in construction, etc
  • reasonable usage of enemy IDF, able to spot and engage observers
  • good dynamic attachment of INFIDEL to infantry
  • excellent work by GUNSLINGER-5, picked everything up for 6 immediately, very helpful! (Sypolt.R)
  • good, properly moderated usage of player-as-enemy (Gann.T) - we should use that more!
  • interesting objectives
  • being chased in HMMVs by creeping mortar fire!

Cons:
  • a bit rusty in squad bounding assault to last objective
  • we were too small of a force to take the last objective, even with INFIDEL pre-running it with HOG several times
  • the beginning was a little bit too hurry-up-and-waity

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Sergeant Lorenzo Bonder
Corporal John Velasquez

Pros:
  • good ideas for mission design
  • good OIC planning
  • Good involvement in building reinforcements, assets for the COP + Traffic Control Point
  • Good internal comms
  • Proper time for teaching/learning since Velasquez wasn't aware much about proper base building and TCP building
  • Did some repairing and key asset placement for mission flow

Cons:
  • Quite of a slow start troop wise
  • A more fleshed out OPORD could have helped organization a bit better overall
  • Intercomms were clunky at parts
  • Felt a bit useless at the beginning apart building things, but I believe that was more due to mission nature.

Pros
Cons
  • Implementation of flight medic felt off. Confusion from the start and had no ground element coordinating with us. Everything came through the flight medics aboard.
  • Experienced Cav Atlas-1 units would've probably helped, lacked alot of procedures when handling landings etc...
  • In this type of squad based ops, Comms procedure should be altered, perhaps each detached assets SL should take responsibilities for their own CAS/Medevac calls
