7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:

  • Drop was beautifully done
  • Good comms
  • FTL's were quick to step up when SL went down and troopers were quick to step up when there FTLs went down.
  • MISFIT 1, destroyed 1 x convoy destroying a platoon sized element, established a breach point. Destroyed 2x Vehicles and pushed and cleared multiple buildings and quickly destroyed one last vehicle and section sized element before the mission ended.

Cons:

  • Should have specified a spread for the multiple ship drop so troopers didn't fall on top of each other.

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Pros

  • Chaotic op with lots of contact and fun
  • Incredible inter-squad teamwork and communication
  • Lots of flexibility amongst squads, S/O to MISFIT-2 for their physical exercise
  • Incredible combat effectiveness from the light infantry squad
  • Violence of action
Cons
  • Slightly slow start-up/step-off (partly our fault)
  • Chaotic comms/flexible plans probably created some confusion amongst squads

Pros
  • Insertion phase was well executed.
  • Mission concept was well received by everyone
  • Comms were initially pretty good (until acre and disconnect issues began)
Cons
  • We had a number of Acre Issues, that reduced our effectiveness.
  • A number of the pilots experienced crashes to desktop, which further compounded the ACRE issues.
  • Initial loadouts were not optimal. E.g. Sparrow was assigned IHADDS and no NVG. (As such we had to change loadouts in order to fly the Chinook for the initial task that we were given)
Note
  • Would advise discussing potential LZs for insertion/resupply during briefing to aid in situations where we have ACRE issues.
  • Sparrow-1's mission could have been assigned to a DAP. (Please use the DAP)
  • Aside from using the DAPs in place of the sparrow, and updating the loadouts. Our overall experience during the mission was very positive.

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: Me, myself, and I.

Pros:

  • Drop was beautifully done
  • Great flexibility from the platoon
  • Fantastic communications between squad leaders, and (IMO) platoon staff.

Cons:

  • There was definite confusion, and hectic plans made for hectic actions.
  • Some top down communication issues; a lot of radio traffic. Just requires some basic optimization.

Pros:

  • great drop
  • 4/2 displayed masterful work on their gun systems.
  • 4/2 delivered outstanding fire power
  • convoy destroyed with rapid fire and load capabilities of the M3 Maaws, suppressive fire power of the 240B pairs, and 1st squad engagement into the lead vehicle
  • Hostage situation was taken care of, the Russian bad guy peaked his head out too far and found out

Cons:
  • mass confusion on where to ambush the convoy
  • we chose to set up an ambush in-between an enemy base and the road where the convoy would be (put us in an L formation )
  • 4/2 was misused as an assaulting element into the main compound, limiting our potential to siege the enemy
  • FF incident, due to jumbled assault lines, and enemy being within melee range of 1st squads bravo fire team, our line engaged enemy and friendly contacts amidst the conflict
  • miscommunications on where to put the hostages, lead to delays and us taking extended contact
  • Gun team was unable to deal with critical threat firing SPG9 rockets at the squad. However this was due to view distance setting and not a skill or reaction delay

Pros
  • Excellent work by medics.
  • Good comms on 15.
  • Great communication with platoon staff.
  • Excellent buddy-aid from troopers. Keep up the good work!
Cons
  • Long walk between DZ and OBJ.
  • A combination of 7 being under heavy fire, and vague calls for medical from other elements made giving medics full 6-lines difficult.
  • That being said, I'll do better with the 6-lines next time.
