Element Callsign: Atlas 2

Corporal Dan Maco

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Corporal Zachary Knights

Pros:
Alot of work for medics across the whole OP
Quick moving through Op
Alot of action throughout
Good comms across Atlas and Platoon Medic
Saved alot of people from brink of Death.

Cons:
Discipline from squads coming into a CCP for Medical or resupply.
6 different events of friendly fire from blackhawks
Little- no self care
Need 3 man teams as Atlas was streached to the point of what we could handle
Loadouts Still need sorting perhaps a white list of approved kit to be done in the arsenal.
Some points needed a break of contact due to being flanked once main force pushed on.

Joined forces with Atlas - 2 during the op ( Corporal Maco.D )

Pros:
  • Lots and lots of medical to do
  • Stitched up at least 2 / 3 times everyone ( except the pilots )
  • Used 26 Paks - 42 liters of saline and "woke up" 23 people at least
  • Medics not kept too much in the rear
  • Good coordination between Atlas 1 and 2 during mass cas
  • Resupplies were frequent so I never went black on any medical equipments , well done

Cons:
  • Lots of troopers not stabilizing themselves just "waiting" for medics to do everything
  • Some troopers going away under treatment or telling us to hurry up and finish treating them which is not how it' should be done during treatment
  • Again , some troopers just chatting in CCP's and then frustrating the medics during mass cas and not pulling security

Pros:

  • Lots of contact
  • Lots of objectives
  • Really fun time
  • Solid comms
  • Great leadership

Cons:
  • Sometimes TOO much contact
  • Felt a bit unorganized at times
  • People were stretched pretty thin for such an ambitious objective with only two squads

Pros:
-Chain of command maintained
-Units had fun in an extreme challenge environment while outnumbered
-Overwhelming forces at 15 to 1 odds
-Under a high stress operation no one rage quit, and I'm extremely proud of the guys for that
-Medics are god, Medics for medals
-Attempted to maintain fire team solidarity even with casualties at a rate of every 5-10 seconds
-So many injured, medics for medals

-Resupplied 3 times estimated 6000 rounds expended of 240

Cons:

-Enemy were bullet sponges
-Weather was bi polar, fog was heavy and enemy could see through it, into gale force winds where AI could skill curve their bullets onto us within 3 rounds
-1st LZ was hit hard, we attempted to secure and hit with overwhelming firepower but enemy forces won fight
-When SL went down Squad usually stopped movement entirely or within 50 meters and were pinned (I went down a Lot)
-Melted a 240 barrel trying to cover misfit 1, and it put the gun out of service for at least 3 minutes.

SL Remarks:
Lessons learned for our 3D's, and how to not ND frag grenades. Proud of Misfit-4 at the operation for their ability to maintain fire while being shot at by overwhelming forces. I truly believe that due to Misfit-4's efforts in returning fire with the 240, that Misfit 1 was able to maneuver and take less casualties while flanking.

Public Personnel Within Element:

Pros
  • All infantry were quick to load on the PZ, nice to see.
  • Comms took a while to get into full swing, specifically during the intial insert. That initial insert was really tough, 10m visibility and starting taking fire before we even landed however still managed to complete the insert. Buff-1 and 2 CC were both killed.
  • Killed a TU-95 bear and assisted with Mi-8. All buffalos really effective with CAS, with sometimes limited information regarding enemy positions.Had buff-2 running point on CAS, 3 for resupply/restint and 1 acting as go between. Once the conditions cleared up we were able to assigned more buffs to CAS and became alot more effective.

Cons
  • Comms were slow to start
  • CSAR was a mess
