Element Leader: Captain Swanson.B
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: Specialist Perrier.J

Pros:

  • Happy we got to play both side in that operation. I love both factions and 45 minutes on each was perfect.
  • Insertion concept was cool. Not easy, but cool.
  • I was suppose to be SL but I decided to be medic to help on the point, I figured it was important. Got 36 revives total! Happy with that! Thanks SPC.Perrier.J for taking over my SL role and letting me play medic.
  • Zone was great for the low amount of troopers we had on each side.
Cons:
  • Lots of rules broken left and right. Nothing was very impactful but when you add those up, its anoying.

Pros:

  • Had a really fun time with my squad.
  • Great communication in squad.
  • Loved the helicopter inserts and the 'king of the hill' aspect of this operation. Very fun point to fight over.
Cons:
  • Lots of confusion over the ROE which led to a lot of rule breaking.
  • Communication in the command chat was very disjointed at times and it felt like we never had a solid strategy.

Pros:

  • Ton of fun, met some new people and everyone had a positive attitude!
  • Great communication within the team
  • Helicopter inserts added a lot of realism and required a lot of coordination on the fly
Cons:
  • Rules changed a lot during the operation, more clarity at the start and specificity would be a great add1

Pros:

  • CRCON messages were effective during OP for coms
  • Liked playing both sides of the match during one OP
  • Good coordination on attacks on our side
Cons:
  • OPORD was a bit confusing and changed very early in the match
  • ^^ Above changes likely caused confusion and most of the AO restrictions weren't followed through the match, both teams at times.
  • Chaotic US command squad comms - was pretty
  • Certainly felt at times like I was being shot through 500 bushes.

Pros:

  • Fun concept
Cons:
  • Not sure why the OPORD had next to no information on it.
  • ROE needs to be outlined, discussed, and understood by ALL SL's
  • We switched from HLL to HLLV, there isn't much that has changed so unsure why OPORD's are faltering and ROE's are not being enforced.

Element Callsign: US Squad 3
Element Leader:
1LT.Elliker.K
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Effective and concise squad communication
  • Fun and engaging operation and not overly complicated
  • SPC.Miller.JH (Commander) put together an excellent strategy when playing as the NVA. Two pronged attack with effective use of air support and artillery to weaken the point.
  • Effective training material, especially for US (using helo insertions heavily)
Cons:
  • Clarity of ROE, which would have led to more ROE compliance
  • Command chat was not always concise and hindered in squad comms. Use marks on map effectively instead of making multiple call outs in command chat.
  • Squad leaders need to let ONE person dictate general strategy (Commander), not try to lead from the back seat

Element Callsign:TANK Commander USA 1st round,TANK COMMANDER NVA 2nd round
Element Leader
:SGT.DONK.B
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
PFC.HARVEY.L

Pros:
  • Appreciate the operation.
  • Appreciate Miller going Commander last second and keeping up comms throughout the game.It forced me to go TC which is growing on me.
  • I think the USA 1st team did a pretty good job getting a plan together in short time that allowed us to leverage those 10 minutes effectively.
  • Shout out to Miller.JH, Freeman, Sanders, and Rush for coordinating for SLs to pop into the initial Helis and get garrisons up.
  • After our loss on the NVA side between flips Hermes really set the tone and uplifted us from defeat. He re-iterated we needed good comms and to punch with concentration on this 1st attack. He championed combined arms which helped our tank be an asset rather than a box of tin. McCann and Harris were some welcome relief. Wagner held it down. Three buildables were built and we much appreciated.
  • Harvey downed at least 2 Copters directly, and used psychological warefare to bring down the 3rd. He said he'd never shot one down in a game before, he sure fooled me.
  • Harvey was positive and patient with my inexperienced TC-ing.
  • On defense Felton had excellent callouts of Helicopter landings, he positioned his sniper Mac on the far side of the river and was able to pick off the landers as commander hit a choice bombing run, and we tankers splashed to clean up the remaining rif raf. Mac then took out the OP to top off a perfect execution.
  • West Mortaring the Garrison on the NVA off the rip was key in our forces pushing through and occupying consquential ground.
Cons:
  1. Go live the 1st round was not adhered to from my understanding of the rules. It really irked and confused us on the USA side.I think as others had said maybe more maps and slides to try and communicate what each rule meant. Re-iterate and leverage CRCON. Folks were fired upon before go live and we didn't know how to respond.
  2. 2nd round from my understanding NVA also built some questionable spawns, I was frustrated with the 1st round so I didn't speak up. Fortunately they got wiped on the cap so much improved.
  3. I may have Austin Powered the tank first round, which may have lost us the point, but there is no way admin cam could have seen it.

Element Leader: SGT.Tyszka.C
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: NVA Side; Shultz | US Side; I cannot recall who was given to me as co-pilot

Pros:

  • The OP was fun, no denying that, it's always nice to get everyone together and do an inter-unit operation.
  • Communication between units was tight. Teamwork has improved since last inter-Cav operation.
  • Seeing helicopter squads use themselves as troops for attacking.
Cons:
  • The ROE was very vague and felt open to interpretation by both teams.
  • Misunderstanding of active combat/engagement zones.
  • Given a limit of 5 garry's the NVA has a minor disadvantage to the US. (A 6th one would help a lot)
  • Understanding of tunnel networks and how they SHOULD be placed and used needs addressed.
  • (My team) on the NVA side was NOT placing anti-air elements that I saw.
  • (My team) I couldn't coordinate with the other helo logi officer in-game or on discord.
