Bloggins.R ... and of course I'm very proud of you for that because you are one of the best of all worlds! Plus you have an amazing backbone that defies little sensitivities to little tiny jokes. You are a jack of all trades and a master of most!
Jokes aside I'm looking forward to the changed in the Advanced Fixed Wing Course/Eval. The original was really easy, like mouse and keyboard easy, I'm looking forward to seeing how challenging it is.
Thank you for pointing out that these are jokes LOL... Thumper.N, when did you take yours? Mine was hard AF and took like 4 hours.... all of it was hard. Very VERY challenging. And I took mine in 2020. I guess you took yours almost a whole decade ago, so yeah man, it's is very challenging and I think there are some recent changes.... not sure what they did to it.
I meant the fixed wing advanced eval. But as far as the advanced rotary eval, I took mine in 2014, and it was a bitch compared to the newer versions. Some tasks were removed and or changed. IMO anyone that took a rotary eval past 2018 got it easy.
Yeah they are jokes but some can rub people the wrong way. Us old salty fellas it doesn't bother usually. We can't expect everyone to react the same way. I know there are a couple choice topics I wouldn't like.
Ohhhh I thought you were talking about RW. My bad. I took by BFW last year but I'm gonna have to take it all over again before I do Advanced. Just too rusty on the material at this point to feel very confident. But now I'm also trying to fit in the new FAC stuff too. And you know how pesky little IRL gets in the way lol.
I don't know what kind of eval you took, or what they left out, but mine wasn't easy one bit. Not even the confined area landings. And the IFR was pretty much insane.
For example, the Hammerhead, over a certain speed, within confines of the runway, but under a certain altitude is no longer in the eval. The Hangar rotation is no longer in the eval. The Ocean SAR is no longer in the eval; no thermals only mark 1 eyeball. The Kavala course now allows rotors to be above the walls of the entry.
