Element Callsign: Axis Charlie Recon
Element Leader:
Specialist Walker.TR
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Walker.TR

Pros:
  • EXCELLENT gameplay by both teams - touch and go match with a lot of really good players. The kind of match that you don't get on a public server.
  • Comms breakdown in Discord allowed us to keep tactical traffic segmented to people who needed to hear it.
  • Exfor feels like it gets better every week. Thanks for the work all.
Cons:
  • Getting to 50 v 50 would be great, trying to internally recruit from our deep pool of solid folks would be a win for the effort.
  • Slightly disjointed setup figuring out Discord kinks - that being said, well worth the price to have guests join us.

Element Callsign: Axis RED Team
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Nate Angels
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Corporal Shawn Hermes - SL
Corporal Bruce Mair - SL
Corporal Michael Plummer
Specialist Fabian Fox
Private Cole Spicoli
Private Will Brakefield

Pros:

  • Great squad communication and movement. Red Team did absolutely amazing with the movement and tactics to take control on the ground.
  • Everyone followed everything that was asked, our communication was fluid and everything was done correctly squad-wise.
Cons:
  • A touch on our MOS. We were supposed to be on spearheading the Allies' lines and we did more defense than anything.
  • A mix of Command Communications, squad communications and Discord as well was rough for the Squad leaders in Red Team as well as myself.

Corporal Von Knispel.K

Pros:

  • Some of the best 7cav play that I've seen so far!
  • Excellent use of tanks to control lanes and hold ground
  • Good cross-communication and mixed arms play. Axis infantry did a great job of fighting enemy tanks and allowing our tanks to stick to their job
  • Saw some very cool moments
    • Artillery explosion blew up an enemy squad spawn
    • Private Marcum.J took up a great position as a machine gunner and suppressed enemy squads trying to cross open ground to the east of WN7 for about 10 minutes.
    • Sergeant Koalafied.C executed a flank with his medium tank to destroy the enemy heavy 76 on WN7 and break the enemy hold of the point with ~10 minutes left.
    • Infantry engineers built repair stations for our heavies
    • Lieutenant Colonel Mix.C did an awesome job coordinating the team and making sure squad leads stuck to their mission
    • Earlier in the game we started losing WN7 and our squads did a good job redeploying to hold the point. People were really on-top of the game state.
Cons:
  • When we lost WN7 things got really chaotic
  • Team was slow to clear up old marks on the map
  • Mission timing conflicted with SP timing.

Pros:

  • good comms
  • good flexing with other squads to help out logistics when we were getting over run
  • supplies were everywhere that really helped putting up new garry's right after the enemy would destroy one
Cons:
  • I don't have any. tonight was very fun

Element Leader : First Sergeant Rasmus.M

First Sergeant Rasmus.M

Pros :

  • I definitely think that red zone harrasment (attack point 4-grid) and tank early spotting by Recon Spotters is worth it, i'll die on that hill. Especially on the level we play.
  • Established a flanking OP up for attack opportunities in red zone at times while working with the 2 recon spotters for attack point and backline harassment. Gotta love the WAMO
  • Good communication, callouts.
  • Overall respect of squads assignations.
  • Good garrison layout through the match, definitely helped defense.
  • Allies defended very well Hill 5, their fall back garrisons and artillery assets. Good zone of control between the 2 points. They also denied a lot of our supplies drop attempts in the red.
  • Very fun match, that's the game level and teamwork I love.
  • Great guests !
Cons :
  • At some point I got distracted and kept pushing through the front door on Hill 5 from Chapel instead of taking the extra minute to get around and re-establish that flanking OP, or went doing Recon tasks instead of flanking attack. Gotta stay focused on the main objective.
  • It would have been beneficial to have 1 trooper with me to put supplies down switching between SL role, AT and Support. Helps sabotage action.

Element Callsign: Gold Platoon, Allies
Element Leader: Captain Swanson.B
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: Sergeant Belmont.E, Specialist Rowe.S

Pros:

  • Both recon teams performed very well. They maintained strong positioning throughout the match, provided consistent offensive flares, and destroyed multiple backup garrisons. Their map markers were quick and accurate, they spotted tanks and marked garrisons efficiently. Exactly what we expect from recon. Excellent work.

  • We also had solid garrison coverage for most of the match. I believe everyone made a real effort to keep them up throughout the game. That was the commander's main request, at least the only one he had time to communicate before the match started and I think we upheld that standard well.

  • After about 10 minutes, it became clear that the Gold Team didn't actually exist, so I moved on to other tasks. In the end, I supported our recon squads by helping destroy garrisons as a sniper when needed. I also flexed between squads to drop supplies for garrison placement, and even took out two sets of nodes using a flamethrower. Overall, not a bad match on a personal level.
Cons:
  • The worst start to a match I've seen in a long time. Even public matches perform better. I'm not blaming anyone—we were simply not prepared at all. Our commander, Dread, lost internet connection, and when he came back, he couldn't share his game plan due to Discord permission issues. If we want to run events like this, we really need to ensure that external users are granted the proper permissions beforehand. It created a logistical nightmare.

  • This is now the second operation where I've been assigned as a team lead for a unit that simply doesn't make sense. The last time, I was tasked with pushing behind enemy lines, like a true Airborne unit, building red zone garrisons and destroying enemy garrisons in the attack zone, while also defending our own garrisons behind our lines. That meant covering roughly 700 meters with just 7 players. It was an impossible task. And today, once again, another impossible assignment: being the team lead of the so-called "Airborne" Gold Team WITHOUT ANY TROOPS!!! I'm fully aware that I could have asked for reinforcements or more troopers from the get go, but with the logistical chaos at the start and the fact that I wouldn't have had time to properly brief my troops on expectations and the game plan, it would have been pointless. All I needed was 2 more troopers from the start. Thats all! I saw that in the assignment sheet, both SL positions were meant to be filled only if we had more than +40 people on each side. Why? Is Airborne considered so unimportant now? 5 total would have been fine. Not perfect, just fine. 2 recon SL, 3 Airborne element. We could have done that starting at +25 instead of +40. That being said, +40 showed up and yet I didn't get any troopers assigned to me. I understand that assignments aren't set in stone. As I mentioned, for logistical reasons, I didn't ask for additional support. It would have been helpful to have players assigned to the Gold Team from the start so I could brief them on tactics and the game plan. Assignments may be flexible, but when someone knows their role in advance, they can mentally prepare and approach it with the right mindset.

I say this with full respect, but also with genuine frustration and disappointment. How am I supposed to infiltrate behind enemy lines alone, place an outpost, and coordinate a push? My success rate alone is nearly zero. With even two additional squad leaders, it would be viable : if one falls, the others can keep the push alive and establish outposts. Alone, if I die, everything resets, and the effort is lost for the next ten minutes. It becomes completely ineffective. What concerns me the most is not just the difficulty, it's what it represents. I can't help but feel like we're witnessing the decline of Airborne tactics. Are they no longer considered viable? Not part of the meta? Not used by competitive teams anymore? That's unfortunate, because when executed properly, with the right manpower, Airborne is incredibly effective. I also believe there is value in staying off-meta to preserve identity, but right now, that Airborne identity feels like it's disappearing from our matches. And that's genuinely disappointing to see.
Still, it was a very good match. Truly enjoyable. I'm glad that we're bringing guests into our games. It's really valuable to have different gameplay perspectives coming from outside. <3

  • Having people move teams after already being placed on another team.
  • Squad flexing needs work.
  • combined arms logistics needs some work

Pros:

  • Great turnout
  • Great work by S3 OPs in a challenging situation
  • Improved use of discord for guests
  • Axis demonstrated increasing comfort with EXFOR doctrine
  • So many top notch performances it would be impossible to call them all out. This format really pushes our guys to excel
  • Great learning opportunity provided by introducing a guest commander
  • Extremely close match
Cons:
  • Discord setup for our guests remains unsatisfactory need to improve this by next OP.
  • Unfortunate that all guests were placed on one side. Reasoning was solid but probably best to spread it around a bit next time.
  • Lack of opportunity for guest commander to coordinate his team
  • I made one artillery call in that I regret
  • Axis plan was complicated by distant diagonal point layout. Large area involved overstretched manpower and made it difficult to achieve a cohesive line that could effectively advance. That in turn created defensive gaps which threatened to and eventually did, cost us middle point. As commander I failed to clarify Infantry objectives sufficiently leading to a loss of the point that almost lost the game. Work to be done
  • Having guest commander was a trade off.It let us benefit from outside perspectives but it cost us a chance to run our plan for half of our guys.

Pros:

  • Good hard fought match
  • Guest commander was new experience we don't get to have often. Dread did great job considering he was commanding a group of people he's never played with before.
  • Great showing and effort by everyone, especially our guests
  • Good callouts, when I could hear them
Cons:
  • Operation commenced before Allies were ready, causing one of the most chaotic starts I've seen in all my operations so far.
  • Discord is not yet suited to have guests in this capacity as we've had numerous technical difficulties. Something we should work to make better next time.
  • Guest commander did not seem privy to how things were set up assignment-wise, led to problems moving personnel around during the match.
    • Guest commander was not aware we already had line formation assigned, and had to micro manage line formation as personnel was moved around too much to form up a line. I suggest sharing the assignment format ahead of time so guests are aware to better plan on their end.
    • Personally, I was not able to do anything in team leader capacity as half my guys ended up being assigned defense instead of Front line left.
  • Way too much comms, commander did not have time to brief so ended up basically formulating and delivering the battleplan during the match.
    • I could not hear things my troopers were calling out.
    • We could do more with practicing the format of succinct comms and even silent comms with just marker on maps.

Pros:
  • There was a great turnout for the match, more than I was expecting to see based on the early signups. This encourages me, and I will continue pursuing more guests for these EXFOR events.
  • The axis assignments seemed to work out well in general. There are still some areas that need improvement, but we were able to form up the line and maintain this for most of the match.
  • The opposing team challenged us in the last minutes of the match, and we were down to the wire.
  • Incredible recovery after losing the center point with 6 minutes left in the game. Comms remained clear, and there wasn't a lot of panic, even though the situation was dire. I appreciated the cool heads of our squad leaders to keep us in the fight.
Cons:
  • Some miscues with bringing the guests out, but that is on me. I will try to test the discord perms before the next match to get the bugs worked out. Our guests not being able to communicate is a massive oversight on S5's part.
  • These matches are as important to our guests as they are for us. If we want to continue to grow these events into more structured and challenging games for everyone, we need to make sure our guests get the gameplan in advance. So I'll be working on improving the flow of information between clans to make for better games for everyone.
  • Strategy wise, we had some gaps in the line. This has much to do with the enemy team pushing us back as it does our ability to maintain our gameplan. As we continue to improve our skills, it is my hope that we can close the gaps and hold the line.

Pros:
  • Credit to Dread trying to wrangle multiple different communities together to try and run plays against a very difficult strongpoint to attack. Absolutely chad of a team commander.
  • Even when up against a very formidable enemy armor section, my armor section rose to the challenge and incited violence all over the map. The armor battle was a very intense tug-of-war.
  • We managed to take WN7 for a quick second after a very grinding assault
Cons:
  • No pre-planning time due to have a mixture of different communitites and an unfortunate technical issue when Dread was preparing to start the pre-match brief
