To block the advance, NATO has committed all available forces to the defense of Narva. The city's position as the eastern gateway makes it both symbolic and strategic — if it falls, Russian troops will have a direct corridor deeper into Estonia. The 3rd Panzergrenadierbattalion will have to defend against the brunt of the enemy assault.
