Operation "Desert Genesis"
Previous US friendly local militias in the city of Al Basrah have banded together to form a new organization called "Desert Genesis". Intel suggests this new organization is significant more radical than the individual militias previously had been and they have collectively adopted an anti western ideology. Our intelligence agencies suspect Iranian involvement, however they have not been able to substantiate that suspicion.
Intel indicates a bazar, north of the city, has been seized by Desert Genesis and being used a stronghold and radio relay. Additional intel states that the bridge project is a target for bombs. Finally, evidence show that the central hub of power and organization for Desert Genesis is located south along the river.
