Operation "Overlord"
D-Day Memorial
Allied forces will conduct a large-scale amphibious assault on the Normandy coast of German-occupied France on the morning of June 6th, 1944. The objective is to secure a beachhead, establish a forward operating base, and begin the liberation of Western Europe. Enemy defenses include fortified bunkers, anti-tank obstacles, machine gun nests, and artillery batteries positioned along the coastline. Success depends on synchronized land, air, and naval operations to breach the Atlantic Wall and push inland before German reinforcements can mobilize.
