Teams were mixed and the event went through the D-Day maps in chronological order. This event was preceded by three other WS events highlighting the African and Italian campaigns. In addition, we posted weather maps for the days preceding June 6, 1944, and an OPORD to begin movement to keep everyone interested and excited.

Pros:

  • Good buildup throughout this War Stories campaign and in the postings for the week leading up to the event
  • Great comms throughout to include the blueberries
  • Everyone enjoyed the event and was into the D Day commemoration aspect of it
  • Battles were extremely fast-paced and violent
  • Good ROE for the airborne maps, made it a challenge for both sides to play
  • Great introduction to new Juno Beach map
Cons:
  • Airborne maps went too quickly, should have held at mid-point and kept last point off-limits until last 30 minutes of match
  • Garrison placement was sometimes too close, especially on Juno Beach
Special note for B/ACD Troopers!
Please review the attendance list, if you were in attendance and do not see yourself on this list please reach out to First Lieutenant Conner.D ASAP!
