Pros:
  • Great Operation.
  • Good time between Action and calm before the storm.
  • Good ambush environment.
  • Good spacing between limited Mines.
  • Good mix of mortars with nice red smoke shift and fire.

Cons:
  • Faction and Radio Issues making it impossible to communicate with Air, Indirect support and hard to communicate with the infantry element, with a lot of runners.
  • Reset / Crash
  • Missing Coax MG belt in the Viking Arsenal for the Banshee, named " 7.62x51 450rnd M240C AP Belt ".

Corporal Thompson.L

Pros:
  • Really fun time tonight for the mission. Great job S3 public putting on a great time.
  • Really nice job by the squad splitting tasking and priorities and just doing our job on the spot when asked.
  • Was in contact with 5 the whole time for resupply and reinsert security.
  • Miranda did a great job getting rounds out in timely manner with Fire Mission requests.

Cons:
  • AT Mines were practically invisible unless standing right on them, they were also the wrong types so they couldn't be disarmed/dismantled so only option was to avoid or detonate in place.
  • Counter battery was a little excessive, at the end of the OP, it was very accurate even for IDF over the town of Laruel, I took multiple very close calls even while driving.
  • At one point an assistant GM was seen driving a vic down the middle of the road and also came to us and said how he got to watch us blow up at the same time which was immersion breaking and didn't feel like it was the time or place.
  • Radio issue after server reset made it hard to keep in contact at one point.
  • Server crash getting more persistent it seems which starts taking away from the fun and experience.
  • Was told to build up defensive fall back position from ambush engagement, never got to use them as a defense we just endexed at that point.

Pros:
  • Top work from squad with effective use of weapon systems
  • Good communication on a squad and platoon level.
  • Engaging and balanced mission.
  • Lots of targets and vehicles neutralised despite smaller squad size.
  • Good reaction to contact, Spotreps etc.
  • Effective and useful resupply.
  • Mission setup made sense with movement on foot.
Cons:
  • OPORD could do with being briefer but more precise on necessary information.
  • ROEs should be listed even though if it is the standard, we have public and new members joining in all the time and its better to have the one that comes with the template then leaving it out.
  • Helios forward element at times.
  • Unknown minefield.
  • Server crash.

Element Callsign: Viking-6
Element Leader: Corporal Nance.T

Pros:
  • Platoon comms were overall pretty good. Squad to squad comms were good. SLs did a good job to fill gaps after crash
  • Early on able to get effective mortar fire onto targets
  • Banshee was able to provide effective support throughout
  • 5 did a good job managing all assets attached to platoon
  • Overall followed through with the intent of the plan
  • Crash was able to restore the state and put us back where we were
Cons:
  • Opord was missing information about IDF on enemy SALUTE
  • Laurel was very built up for having limited contact
  • GMs advised us to skip clearance of last of obj to keep us moving. Feels like a scoping issue where they wanted to rush us into the defensive portion

Pros:
  • Good utilisation of support elements. Friendly forces worked and moved well together.
  • 5/6 managed radio net very well, inter squad comms good and local chat kept practical during combat.
  • Quick reset where we left off after crash, good progress.
  • Experience for SL, newer to reforger from Squad AO and SPC.Doodeck gained some experience FTL'ing.
  • Peeling and movement before endex was good.
  • Section worked well together , echoing orders etc.
  • Fun OP as per usual.
  • Fun implementation of civ unit, forcing PID'ing of targets.
  • Mortar fire pushed blufor off old points and pressed the OP onwards in a realistic way leading up to the elimination of the source.

Cons:
  • Some felt a lack of targets was an issue at times, especially in what appeared to be more important key points.
  • wire was unable to be cut at one point, forcing detour resulting in one red tag.
  • Mortar fire at the end, despite a good crawl walk run introduction throughout the op using red smoke and reacting to IDF , was too much and took away from the nights final moments.
  • Slides would have benefited from additional information on enemy support units and equipment used in OP.
  • Feedback on Map, some did not feel strongly on this map. Too many open areas to cross for only having a short time to play. Open areas result in feeling of emptiness and lack of contact as noted before.
  • Final objective site could have taken longer and had more fight.
All in all, a very enjoyable experience and fun had by all. From myself and VIKING-1 , thank you to all those involved in making it happen. =) See you next week!
