Element Callsign: BANDIT-5
Element Leader: Sergeant First Class Borenstein.B

Pros:

  • Fun time. Amazing map for MOUT
  • Lots of violence of action
  • Mortars
  • Buffalo door gunners doing business
Cons:
  • Would have been a lot better as 2x platoons but we did what we had to do
  • Got a little bogged down between AOI 1 and AOI 2
  • Kind of felt useless because we had company staff and platoon staff but only 1 platoon of infantry

Pros:
  • Lots of good work for the teams in terms of breaching and infantry support
  • Good fire mission for the mortar without tying us to the tubes for the whole duration of the op
  • Got to get in a good number of sharp firefights and exercise our entire arsenal
  • CQB on the target buildings was a blast
Cons:
  • One blue-on-blue incident where Buffalo engaged one of the Helios teams providing LZ security
  • Pushing the platoon through a single opening on the initial assault was a recipe for disaster, it is a miracle we only lost a single vic to RPGs

Pros:
-Lots of action
-We we're kept busy the entire time. With us sitting on a pad for at most 2 minutes.
- We had an amazing spot by Bloggins, seeing a blue van of infadels outside the AO. We were able to get guns on it as well as respond to a QRF convoy stopping a sizable force from entering the AO.
-The reinserts were cooperative, troopers went silent when asked, LZs were good as well

Cons:
-Lag was bad when entering the AO

Pros:
  • Map is fantastic for mout and urban ops
  • Platoon comms were on point
  • Platoon had a lot of violence of action
  • Supporting assets were johnny on the spot when we needed them
  • Squads communicated with each other and moved as a cohesive unit

Cons:
  • Platoon got held up in AOI 1 and 2
  • Two platoon would have been prefered for this FTX with the scale of the operation

Sustains:
  • Squad worked well together. FTLs did a great job.
  • Training goals met. Had great sector coverage, handles ODAs well, SOSRA to get to entrances and one instance covering for Helios
  • Once platoon got it's feet under it, had good pace and violence of action
  • Worked well with 4. They provided smoke rounds to help get us across to AOI2 and MGs support for clearance of AOI2. Crucial to our success
  • Good succession of command w/in section
  • Everyone enjoyed the map

Improves:
  • Initial plan was sparse on details. Understandable due to fraggo into one platoon, but no details on lanes and DMPs led to platoon taking some time to get moving
  • Platoon was very quiet at some points in time. Radio bug was back as well
  • Had a whole FT yellow + some helios members red from demo. Could have better comms on where explosives were set
  • Had a mascas due to getting caught in a fatal funnel (shoutout to the 7 team for saving us there)

Pros:
  • Squad had very minimal casualties with I think a total of 4 black tags
  • Hard clears of the buildings were pretty solid with one exception
  • Convoy driving while a bit loose on the comms side formation wise was pretty solid
  • Very good implementation of set piece move set to clear through very dense areas
  • Platoon had good comms when it came to unknown to opfor vic movements
  • I personally love using a vic or two to lock down a large roadway when clearing. 2 vics killed and 10+ E.I. killed. Now I just need a gunner who doesn't and I quote say he has 'poor eyesight'
  • AI contact felt good and fairly well proportioned over on the left flank.
  • Personal note: I direct impacted two AI's with the 40mm
Cons:
  • The one hard clear exception was a small collapse of alpha with 2 black tags leaving the AR and one new private to try clearing a very complex building
  • Some radio issues caused some internal problems with me being unable to hear 2 of my members on the radio
  • While waiting for reinserts we got slowed down considerably being unable to clear buildings without dropping massive security sectors so I hunkered the squad to maintain security
  • Definitely had a lull in my platoon comms while dealing with both my teams especially with a quick influx of 3 black tags and a disconnect
  • Mk19 when fired in quick succession was very noticeable on framerate

PROS:
  • Strong turnout.
  • Good flow after we stabilized. Despite the chaos, we conducted lots of good building clearing, and support from other squads felt solid when we crossed the ODAs and LDAs.
  • Good communication with platoon HQ and other squads, considering the rapidly evolving and chaotic battlespace and the scale of the tasking.
  • Effective use of Aldos and 3Ds.
  • Good amount of contact and opportunities to execute actions. FTL's and Team members were proactive and quick to adapt to the rapidly evolving situations.
  • Good Resupplies and medical support, it was there when we needed it and saved us a lot of time and* a couple of black tags.
  • The squad overall enjoyed the FTX. Despite the chaos, large objective, and limited time, it was a valuable stress test of our MOUT procedures with several learning moments.

CONS:
  • Initial chaos due to my mistake, failure to halt at the RP, led to an unstructured start with breaching and clearing.
  • Communication with other squads was lacking on my part, I cut a lot of corners to be able to adapt to the situations. I need to improve coordination, especially regarding lifting fire and signaling when positions are clear for movement.
  • A large number of houses and rooms to clear, the objective is realistically too big for a single platoon, especially within the available time, and people expressed that they wanted to be more methodical. instead of rushing through.
  • We rushed MOUT. Internally, the squad became lax and made assumptions about for example stack readiness, including stopping in the fatal funnel, which resulted in two mass-casualty incidents.
  • Occasional bunching with other squads; better deconfliction is needed when operating in the same lanes.

Pros:
  • Plenty of work to do throughout the operation
  • Good communications between the buddy pairs within -7
  • Great work in buddy aid and CLS aid, lots of casualties were treated well before arrival
  • Fast response times from both pairs during Mass Cas calls or calls for 7 in general
Cons:
  • CLS was carrying a medical kit during the operation, please ensure CLS's are sticking to the default kit with only bumping the number if they have the space
  • Communications between CLS's were okay at the start, but got very lax towards the latter half of the FTX
  • Radios are bugging out and some people can hear you on some nets and not on others, we need to figure out what causes this issue
  • The AGS on the humvee lags the server/ causes people to crash
  • Please make a more spread out area for PCC/PCI's, it feels like we are in a tactical blob every time and it makes it confusing to coordinate supplies

Specialist Clay.L
Specialist Durrence.L
Private Hamilton.CJ
Private Conway.B
Corporal Hoover.R
Corporal Marquez.E
Specialist Park.R

Pros:
  • Great performance from all team members
    • Fire commands
    • Three D's
    • Radio Usage
    • Buddy team adherence
    • Movements
    • Initiative
  • Map and scenario felt and looked great.
  • Good implementation of a mobile SBF
  • We kept our MK19 Humvee with us during movements, increasing our lethality and sustainment, being able to keep our ammo stock nearby
  • Medics were quick to respond and kept us on our feet

Cons:
  • Took a lot of casualties at the start, some troopers had to spend a lot of time reinserting. We dismounted too close to enemy.
  • Platoon level actions could be a bit better coordinated, in particular "echeloning fires," working from the highest to lowest level of fire support and maneuver elements. I had to rely on being able to see nametags through walls to prevent friendly fire.
