Pros:
  • We had a good time, the plan was well thought out and executed
  • We had a good time at the FARP explosion
  • We had no black tags in our care

Cons:
  • The hill is hard because when people go down the slide down the hills
  • The smoke grenade i throw for the LZ did not show up for any one else but me
  • The medical tent got stuck on the third bridge in the sandbags
  • The beginning of the OP was ok with no ambulance, but the bridge area we need to get one for faster transport between bridges that was my mistake not getting one earlier
  • Platoon Radio net was very full at times

Private Studs.J
Pros:
  • Good operation
  • Good Communications with Raider-1 and Viking-5
Cons:
  • Felt slow at times, per the opboard, Raven-1 was supposed to be tasked with resupply and all we did was re-inserts.
  • Server reset was unplanned and forced an early ENDEX

  • 1x Ground-to-Air missile confirmed kill
  • Was able to utilize mortars shortly in the beginning

Cons:
  • FARP incident

Pros:
Good squad cohesion - In the squad
Platoon coms solid - Not to much extra chatter.
Good spacing - in squad
7 was very responsive
Helios was also on point

Cons:
More action- we spent 30 min at one bridge
Slow movement between platoon
Possible switch to 5m coms instead of 30m
Platon Movement - squads kept bunching up
the FARP incident

Pros:

  • Great Inter Squad Communication
  • Enjoyed working with Banshee
  • Great Squad Movements
  • Great formations from fireteams.
  • Great Callouts using the 3 D's
  • Everyone had fun, everyone got enjoyment out of the op.

Cons:
  • (Personal) I am an idiot and walked directly infront of banshee and got ran over.
  • (Personal) I need to get more comfortable with leading a squad and speaking on Platoon Net when called.
  • Civ/AI pathing, watched a CIV drive off the bridge and drown in the river.
  • Civs were just aimlessly walking around bridge 3, which story wise kind of made sense. However immersion wise it would have been great to see them trying to flee or take cover.
  • During Platoon Movements, lots of overlapping talks. Just a reminder, when not in contact, we can use the voice mod and lower our distance.
  • S3 Notes: Not to be cons just considerations: Very Ambitious Opord and theme, however Viking 2 saw a total of 2 K17s and those were only at distance and only got into contact roughly 2-3 times. Again AI was a bit wonky with pathing.

Element Callsign: Banshee 1-2

Element Leader: Staff Sergeant Smith.DM (B1)

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
First Sergeant Westcott.R(B1)
Master Sergeant Willson.JA (B1)
Major Rodahl.S (B2)
Second Lieutenant Molitor.K (DISCHARGED - AKA Elemtael) (B2)
Sergeant First Class Lucander.P (B2)

Pros:
-Scale was good
-Good amount of targets
-Good engagements
-Helios support was on point (thanks for fixing our gun sight)
-Leadership elements were good, communication was good
-Overall, fun op.

Cons:
-FARP needs to be better designed for larger vehicles (Banshee's)
-Too many assets (Mortars / Banshee's / Raiders) Showcase assets, but not all at once. Focus an OP around 1 asset, maybe 2.
-If Civis are in the AO, they will pick up firearms. GMs need to keep that in mind, as it may not make sense for civis to pick up weapons and engage friendly forces as we were there to help them (American civis engaging American forces)
-Conducting maneuvers with limited infantry support was unfortunate, may have been because of the amount of assets being used. Banshee's should be used more often to transport troops, especially in a viking op.
-Couple crashes here and there, but that's arma.
-We accidentally caused a mass cas at the FARP, which we apologize for, but the FARP was extremely crowded so ARMA physics took over.
-Thermal optic on the Banshee's is bugged (I believe Westcott is tracking)

Pros:
  • Squad worked well together. Good scoot and shoot through first movement.
  • Interesting usage conducting a patrol to clear through dead space
  • Worked well with 2 on clearance of FOB
  • Squad was fun and mostly managed to have fun through what was a little bummer of an op for us

Cons:
  • Scenario opord was confusing and had contradictory information
  • Initial platoon movement had little spacing between squads until WP1. Took away opportunity to practice our training with a react to contact to squad attack
  • No contact in patrol. Seemed like the defensive structure for the Russians was very condensed to the bridge which were difficult to attack in an engaging way
  • American Civilians were hanging out with Russians on defenses during an active assault by friendly forces
  • American civilians who were hanging out with the Russians picked up weapons, then shot at us
  • Troopers noted feeling as though Opfor was stagnant and not providing an interesting challenge
  • Slowly lost focus and devolved as we went further on
  • Couple of times felt like platoon was very busy with extra assets, overall platoon was pretty good though

Element Callsign: Viking-4

Element Leader: Staff Sergeant Taylor.C

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Cain.T
Second Lieutenant Vaughn.V

Pros:
  • Mission type and tempo was spot on.
  • Good use of map and POI
  • Platoon level movements looked decent from 4's perspective
Cons:
  • Low Enemy Density for Viking-4, we were an ad hoc Overflow squad, so we were not planned extensively in the OPORD
  • Civis picking up weapons and firing upon blufor forces. While i never witnessed it was heard around my unit.
