Element Callsign: Viking-7
Element Leader: Private Weather.J
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: Private Weather.J

Pros:
  • Battle buddies were banding and stabilizing patients
  • No black tags in care of the medic
  • Fairly busy
  • CPL.Mackey.A did a great job as Viking-6

Cons:
  • By myself with no CLS's
  • I died on the first LZ in the helicopter while still in the air.
  • I was teamkilled
  • Once dead my body was looted for saline and was not really contacted as much since some had a full medic kit.
  • Name tag issues made it very difficult to operate today. ( I would like to say this further solidifies my point on why we should not turn off the HUD.)
  • Lots of tech issues tonight slowed down the OP as a whole.
  • Pilots kept overshooting the LZ's and PZ's.
  • Saw downed people being left by their squad with no callouts for the medic.
  • When called the medic is not given a grid reference even when asked. Giving vague location callouts are not enough.

Element Callsign: Banshee-1
Element Leader: Corporal Johnsen.M
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:Corporal Reddick.A

Pros:
  • OP was okay we guess.
  • Watched Helios chasing their own vehicle on-foot after they flipped it. (Highlight) #veryenjoyable

Cons:
  • Bradley optic has only 4x and 12x magnification making CQC very difficult (a 1x and 8x should be added for more versitality).
  • FPS issues (Driver and Gunner got down to 6FPS) and was usually around 11-17FPS.
  • Nametags were broken showing incorrect names on everyone.
  • Bradley TOW Missile is living it's own life not going where it's being pointed towards.
  • Bradley Coax has only 1 belt of 800rnd 7.62x51mm M240 and in the inventory is 7.62x51mm 450rnd M240C which is not compatible with current itteration.
  • Bradley Ramp is non-functional/inaccesable.
  • Bradley Hatches/Doors can't be open and closed from the outside.
  • Bradley only has 6 passenger seats in the back/no bucket seat anymore.
  • The "Driving" is more rigid and sharp, making it feel like we are driving an armed Connex container around instead.
  • Having Chaos in the back was making our job very difficult trying to communicate with each other over Chaos comms.
  • Crew felt we didn't really achieve anything/goal was unclear. eg. it felt like we took/cleared 3 towns just for the sake of doing it.
  • "Godfather" spawned behind the Bradley giving Chaos intel about a QRF, infront of Helios and Banshee Crew which was very immersion breaking. (We feel this should have rather been told to Viking-6 and then disseminated down to Choas).
  • OPORD stated enemy had Motorized capabilities but there were multiple K17s and Typhoons which falls under Mechanized.
  • Instructions unclear.

Specialist Jonez.M

Pros:
  • Lots for Archangel to do
  • Great comms from Chaos & Viking for Buffalo/Grizzly
  • Great teamwork from flight team

Cons:
  • Bison did not get clear radio calls for CAS
  • Lost 2x pacs on the first insert
  • Name tags not functional. (not the Cavs fault)
  • Rouge solider stole Buffalo-1 and shot and killed another trooper. (was unable to identify trooper due the nametag issue)
  • During the first insert after calling '30 seconds' everyone was silent and then people started yelling shouting after the bird took small arms fire.

Also one player named Nicolette. Not sure if he is in the Cav.

Pros:
  • With nametags bugged, I turned them off completely and actually enjoyed the added realistic challenge of keeping track of my teams by communicating.
  • The squad worked well together tactically, performing a wide variety of tasks such as SBF, clearing buildings, trench clearing, and hunting down enemy armor.
  • Shortly after landing at the first LZ I was informed that 6 was incapacitated, and I attempted to get the squads coordinated while he was down. Good example of awareness, initiative, and communication from the troopers who kept me informed.
  • Viking-7 did an exceptional job, working alone to help our casualties multiple times.
Cons:
  • We flew over the enemy positions while in route to the first LZ, resulting in the Chinook taking fire and Viking-7 becoming KIA.
  • Our squad never received a resupply in the field
  • I joined late and didn't have time to read the OPORD
  • There were multiple instances of squads getting overextended or out of position, creating a danger for friendly fire

Sergeant First Class Lucander.P

Pros:
  • Good coordination between support elements and Viking Leadership.
  • Everyone worked towards 6 intent.
  • Good aggressiveness on infantry and support elements.
Cons:
  • Client FPS going into low numbers from time to time, near towns.
  • Name Tags mod did not work correctly, wrong name showed up.
  • Chaos should be with 6 not 5 for Mechanized operations, as Banshee back is not sound shielded from crew, as crew lack communication system with sound barrier against other players, so hard for Crew to hear commands with Chaos traffic in the back.
  • Incident with GM jumping direct to Chaos giving immersion breaking information loudly directly to Chaos next to Banshee, Helios and Viking - 5.

Recruit Miranda.M
Specialist Tremblay.J
Master Sergeant Zimm.L(ret)

Pros:
  • Lots of work for Helios to do tonight as far as breaking down AT mines and CP,s, road obstacles.
  • Stayed in close and direct contact with 5/Banshee for convoy and SBF and covering fire and support in conjunction.
  • Was able to be on net and receive and give answers/callbacks to 6 and CHAOS when requested, comms were fluent and easy and quick to get word to and back.
  • Was able to detach into a 2 3-man team for most of the night to split responsibilities and distribute work load evenly across all Helios members.
  • Really great and fun enjoyable OP, had fun having to PID targets instead of just nailing them to make sure we werent hitting friendly units with name tags off.

Cons:
  • SPARK vehicles are a little bit situational seeing how the roller is only good for one AT mine then needs to be swapped out.
  • First OBJ we came up on to clear down CP wasnt fully cleared of enemies in the area, left us open to attack which we repelled and fell back to regroup and replan. PLT line was good right to OBJ CP, but then fully shifted to the west which is why it was left uncleared.
  • Helios has vehicles now that combine multiple roles, the GMs didn't know this at first which isn't a fault to them, just moving forward we can get rid of vanilla vehicles for the most part and condense a lot of it into 1 vehicle as a multi-role now.

Element Callsign: CHAOS
Element Leader: Major Kastor.K
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Back in the FAC saddle after a year or so - fun!
  • BISON crew (Colbert, Coner) responsive on radio
  • BISON managed ISR and a few basic 5-lines well, even when single-manning the airframe (kudos!)
  • BUFFALO and -7 readily responded to CSAR request and managed to save and retrieve pilot Colbert
  • Overloaded VIKING-6 responsive and still readily approving strikes or expected areas of engagement, with clear delineation of limits
  • GMs quickly fixing arsenal issues and replacing BISON airframes lost to game crashes

Cons:
  • Back in the FAC saddle after a year or so - way too rusty...
  • Initial Bacon Loadout editor crashes
  • BISON pilot's overheating PC caused two crashes (of both the PC and the airframe), limiting effectiveness of BISON and ability to assist the platoon efforts
  • High pace infantry and BANSHEE movement plus tight hostile AO placement made selecting safe CAS run approaches very challenging
  • Little to no preplanned work for BISON by GM despite the crew and CHAOS present in OPORD
  • Above led to GM making up a QRF at the quarry despite VIKING platoon actively moving past that point already and having to present the information to CHAOS in immersion-breaking "teleport in and talk" instead of "message from on high on the radio" fashion - would love to see GM messaging -6 or CHAOS on radio, tasking to "pay attention to NW direction, as reports of QRFs are coming in" and then CHAOS being able to task airframes on ISR and CAS

Pros:
  • Understrength platoon took 3/4 objectives. Saw some good infantry fundamental during the assaults.
  • Great comms with Buffalo/Grizzly coordinating reinserts, and attempting to work resupply.
  • All elements were working to achieve commanders intent.
  • It was fun and challenging even if the ION faction is a bit tanky.
Cons:
  • Due to size, and nature of some of the objectives as well as some of the reactions to the enemy situation left parts of the line over extended without a clear tie in between friendly infantry squads, or a lack of SA when being reached out to help coordinate movements/ clearances of terrain.
  • Hey you this is me not always followed on platoon net.
  • we were effectively 2 squads in strength spread out across 3 rifle squads. probably should of made the decision to collapse the formation down somewhat.
