Pros:
  • Very Busy, I think it work well leaving one 7 in ambulance and attaching the other two with two of the three sections we had. They would call the ambulance if then needed help or resupply.
  • CLS did a great job on 63 Medical Net talking to Platoon Medic
  • 0 Black Tags in medical care

Cons:
  • Battle buddies not bandaging and pulling them to cover if they are in the open
  • too long of an op was get tired
  • Why do we kill POWs when they are surrounding and our ROEs are to capture POWs

Pros:
  • Learnt more leadership skills all throughout the squad
  • Made a Nature Documentary on the Banshees

Cons:
  • Mechanized Operation where the infantry never were mounted at any given time
  • Keep 1 stream during the brief
  • 30 min before departure after brief
  • Reinserts took 10min before LZ was given (there should be pre designated LZ/PZ locations)
  • Coms where disorganized
  • Squad Leaders talking on Platoon net multiple times
  • Squad Leaders being called up by 6 multiple times and not responding during the whole operation
  • Viking-1 had too much expected out of them being on the left lane
  • V-1 had little too no contact other than the MASCAS at the very start and at the end of the OP
  • V-1 felt like we didn't know what to do until the very last minute
  • Op ran too long

Pros:
  • Everyone enjoyed the Operation.
  • Crisp and Wide manoeuvres.
  • Helios responsiveness and flexibility were excellent.
  • Bradley Platoon Comms were excellent during the first half of the operation.
  • Great interoperability from the squads.

Cons:
  • Most of the troopers expressed that the operation ran too long.
    • 3+hr operations tend to have troopers lose discipline and professionalism
  • Bradleys were operating far from eachother and other infantry.
  • Final assault was really cool, but not very functional. There are almost no circumstances where vehicles should be in front of infantry. Also, it took too long to plan as a frago.

Pros:
  • Good in section comms.
  • Good team work between fireteam elements.
  • Excellent Helios Medical/Resupply support throughout.
  • Everyone in the section had fun and enjoyed the dynamic section play.
  • All in all a very good scenario, and we enjoyed the max employment of support elements and the level of enemy resistance was enjoyable.

Cons:
  • Match was a bit long.
  • Server crash, however this is expected from time to time.
  • Small language barrier with 6 slight problems with understanding communications but it was worked through,

Pros:
  • Team-to-team maneuvering was on point. Squad-to-squad maneuvering was decent when it happened but didn't happen frequently enough.
  • Internal comms were solid between teams. Having Banshee-2 on net for direct communication was fantastic. Would love to see that more.
  • Map was solid and the operation itself was interesting. Everyone enjoyed the concept.
  • Having the Bradleys working with us was great. Enjoyed having that element there for support.
  • Viking-2 suffered no casualties and teams/troopers operated safely, cleanly, and textbook.

Cons:
  • Phase lines were very wide for the numbers we had. The operation was designed with four squads of infantry in mind + four Bradleys. Upon the loss of one squad, one Bradley, and the low numbers in Viking-3 at step, it may have been prudent to reevaluate our capabilities and FRAGO the OPORD.
  • We felt that a lack of squad lanes and specific route advice to objectives led to this platoon movement/maneuver playing out more like three squads hitting separate objectives on their own. Squads were distant from one another and support was too far at all times, leading to what I believe were two MASCAS.
  • OIC was without an RTO and his platoon sergeant was coordinating the Banshee element (which is always a difficulty with Mechanized). The squads really felt the impact of Viking-6 being pulled every which way by having to coordinate not just the platoon but all the other assets in the AO. This may have been easier for the squads to handle among themselves if we were closer together and hitting OBJs together, per above. It feels like 6R is absolutely necessary (if not mandatory) if a platoon leader is also the OIC, though having Company HQ to handle higher operation coordination would be extremely useful.
  • Viking-2 saw very limited contact over a very long op. Thanks to the guys for being an entertaining bunch!
