7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Yota.G
Master Sergeant Zimm.L (RETIRED)

Pros:
  • Had A lot of Fun using the medical tent rather then being attached to a Ambulance the entire time
  • Had a great time being attached to the actual line units to support instead of being a distance away
  • Used the medical Net with the CLS's which allowed for a quick response
  • Saved GUN-6 twice
Cons:
  • Something with the ACE mod seems to have people become black tag a lot quicker than normal

Pros:
  • Great Communications with 6R and with other aviation assets.
  • 6R sending out a search and rescue for a missing crew member and accomplished finding him.
  • LZs were interesting and a fun challenge this time around.

Cons:
  • Not having a full crew sometimes causes issues with landings
  • Tonight we were utilized for reinsert and supply, part way through the mission the spawn was moved from FOB Michigan to FARP Thunder eliminating the need for reinserts. This causes Buffalo to not have as much tasking and leaves us sitting at base. It didn't ruin our time; but, it can lead to a non-enjoyable experience.

Pros:
  • Good improvisation on the attack on the castle
  • SBF position for phase 2 and 3 was very effective
  • Over 2000 rounds per guns sent from the SBF
  • Good implementation of talking guns, coordination of fires, etc...

Cons:
  • We could have had better control of our fire rates
  • 30 minutes before step off
  • It would have been better not to teleport us away from the helicopter crash, as far as immersion is concerned.

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: Specialist Johnsen.M

Pros:
  • Amazing work by SLs and Attachment leads across the board. PLT net was humming with cross traffic and self-coordination was a key element in Platoon success tonight.
  • Chaos and Raider put a lot of bodies in bags this evening, also Helios with artillery fires.
  • Gun1, 3, and 4 SLs coordinated so well that having me as -6 was mostly a redundancy.
  • First time as PL was made easy by all the element leads.
  • Fantastic work by 6R tonight.

Cons:
  • ~30 mins to step off is UNSAT and falls squarely on me. I purely took too long getting brief done and stuff organized.

Pros:
  • Squad worked well together
  • Violence of action of fireteams
  • Breaches
  • Platoon echeloning fires - Raider, mortars, 240, local SBF

Cons:
  • Heli crashes
  • Gunslinger 2 spent too long sitting on the castle out of effective range
  • Troopers need to incorporate IMT into bounds
  • Floating insurgents (Zeus was responsive)
  • Battle buddies in squads

Pros:
  • Op was a lot of fun!
  • Got to call in airstrikes and artillery strikes, which were super cool
  • Excellent coms with PLT HQ and Raider flight

Cons:
  • IR lasers do not reach far enough for aircraft to see
  • Figured out that we have to talk aircraft onto targets for the best possible strikes

Pros
  • Had a good time!
  • Lots of work for RAIDER.
  • Communications with CHAOS-1 and 2 we're great. Got a lot of 9-line practice.
  • Destroyed approximately 2 vics, 4 machine gun emplacements, 2 bunkers, countless infantry, an HVT, and turned one three walled compound and three walled compounds into a brand-new parking lot at Jharnok as requested.
  • HELIOS did a great job keeping us in the fight with a nearby FARP containing a helipad. At one point we had an engine fire and had we been forced to return to the airfield almost assuredly would have spread and ignited fuel and resulted in the loss of the airframe.
  • Watching ODIN/HELIOS hammer a location with mortars from the air is always a great sight.

Cons
  • Slid airframe down a hill after rotor clipped some small foliage at an unsuitable LZ. Appropriate airframe for the operation and intended LZ was a UH-60 Black Hawk however due to more personnel than anticipated it was discussed and decided to utilize an MH-47G Chinook in order to make a single trip. I ultimately made the command decision to attempt the insertion with the Chinook although under crewed as the mission was running behind. It technically resulted in a successful landing... about 500m down the mountain... in a river...
  • AI was engaging us with RPG's and small arms far beyond console draw distance and while utilizing terrain to not silhouette our aircraft (just part of Reforger). We dodged multiple RPG's that after reviewing the footage were fired roughly 1km away (we were about 700m up and 700m out from an estimate based on the video footage). Potentially decrease the AI spotting range for night operations where the enemy does not have NODs in the future.

Element Callsign: Helios 1
Element Leader: Specialist Bolte.D
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Second Lieutenant Mazinski.H

Pros:
  • Tons of work between the call for fire with the mortars, keeping front lines supplied building the FARP
  • Easy coordination between all SL and Chaos for grid references for call for fire.
  • Great way to showcase the flexibility that Helios offers at the ready and how fast we can shift between an assault or support element.

Cons:
  • Hit a point where we had to prioritize needs because our numbers were just to low so we couldn't respond to everything needed from us but just goes to show how valuable we are

Pros:
  • Squad was super responsive and adaptable to changing situations.
  • 6 did a great job of providing purpose and direction and then letting us get to work and allocating assets to support.
  • Squad conducted a text book hasty assault off the LZ to neutralize enemy mortar pits directly contributing to mission success.
  • Great coordination of movement and schemes of fire by the other SL's.

Cons:
  • 28 minutes to get boarded and rotors spinning for an air assault.
  • Minor blue on blue but was quickly mitigated via platoon comms and deconflicting movements once we were able to visually tie in after relinking with the platoon.

Pros:
Great squad leadership
Good first run for OIC

Cons:
Slow start, over 30 min to get going for element 2, coordination, helicopter change and several late joiners.
Unnecessary teleport after crash landing, i understand wanting to keep speed up, but it felt game breaking to be teleported up to LZ 2.
