Pros
  • Excellent teamwork between fireteams
  • Withing fireteams all public players did a good job of working as a unit.
  • Gunslinger 2 was able to maneuver on the objective and complete its primary objective while taking no black tags.

Cons
  • Lack of coordination in convoy
  • Lack of a clear objective in the operation

Element Callsign: GunSlinger-7

Element Leader:
Private First Class Valiente.M

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Private First Class Flint.J

Pros
Crew performance and cohesion was excellent. Huge shout out to PFC Flint.J for stepping into the role as Medical Assistant. PFC Flint.J often had to look over 2 squads all by himself while I was operating ambulance and looking over the 3rd squad. No black tag was reported on any casualties withing our reach during the whole operation. PFC Flint.J needed minimum directive from Squad Leader as he was always one step ahead once order was giving through Platoon Channel.
He was a pleasure to work with. Both PFC Flint.J and I had a blast working with the new medical mod.

Cons
Gunslinger-7 was a two man team looking over 5 squads. Communication between GunSlinger-7 and element outside of gunslinger platoon was inexistent. Calls for medic were vague and once made hard to locate the casualty as all squads were on different positions. GunSlinger-7 reports 1 case of someone going out of place and administrating drugs on casualty without really knowing the consequences.

Pros
  • Raven-1 was tasked with running re-inserts for the firefight Friday operation. i think the location of the final objective was a major plus for me as i enjoy flying in the canyon land and staying hidden in the walls of rock while dropping units off, even though we were experiencing AAA and manpad resistance in pockets of canyonland it was possible to use the terrain to drop off friendly infantry throughout the mission. an exercise like this is always greatly appreciated as it allows me the opportunity to hone my skills as an airman

  • beyond the bonus of having another airframe in the air that can communicate a secondary perspective, having friendly air assets with weapon systems in the air is always comforting when running an unarmed transport. thank you Second Lieutenant Ratliff.B and your crew

  • having only lost 2 birds during the entire op i feel this mission was mostly successful on my part, and definitely very fun thank you everyone.

Cons
  • Experienced a direct hit by a stinger while i was on the ground i believe this is room for improvement on my end as i should not stay in a location on the ground longer than needed.

  • Aswell as experiencing spike in packet loss and a frame drop which resulted in me colliding with a hill i was cresting over

Element Callsign: Raider-1
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Ratliff.B

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Second Lieutenant Ratliff.B
Private First Class DeCann.A

Pros:
  • Excellent mission design and plan by S3 and Gunslinger - 6
  • Very persistent and difficult AAA threat, adding to the realism of the whole event. Raider dodged something to the effect of 15 Igla rounds and the fire from 6x ZU-23s.
  • Raider took on the entire base of FOB Thirty Palms with an estimated Platoon element KIA
  • Comms with Raven and Chaos were very good. Situational awareness from Chaos was very well received and welcomed
  • Loss of aircraft occurred and SERE was conducted very well. No aircraft were able to be recovered by OPFOR
  • PFC DeCann dodged an Igla missile coming directly at our nose by use of terrain masking, defeating the missile.
Cons:

  • It sucks to get shot down
  • The AAA fire was effective at knocking out rotors as well as preventing movement from MOB to the BP's established by Chaos. The con is actually that I wasn't as good at getting around that as I expected.

Pros:
  • Loved the road trip element.
  • Enjoyed being tip of the spear making contact. (supply point, ambush).
  • Enjoyed the Raid as the primary operation as it gave everyone specific tasking.
  • Excellent map work by the PL - markers were clear and distinct.
  • We also had very good distinction between our two fireteams in Gun-1.
  • We accomplished our mission which was to block the eastern road into the objective IOT protect the main force destroying the enemy vehicles. We were able to destroy two armored vehicles on route to reinforce the enemy.
  • SPC.Mendoza did a particularly strong job leading A team. His communication was excellent, timely, and calm.

Cons:
  • Would love to have a bit more mission briefing in order to ensure the fireteams are equipped appropriately.
  • Also a 1-sheet for comms in order to know if there will be a vehicle net vs just a platoon net, etc.
  • There were some members of my squad who felt there was too much time in vehicles, and were disappointed that we bypassed one of the objectives. I think that may be a matter of taste, or perhaps its a scoping question for the mission organizers in terms of time.
  • On that note, I know that I as Gun-1 SL could have been faster at reacting to enemy contact along the way and in keeping my element moving during the tactical movement. As 1st squad we were setting the pace for everyone. That may have made up for enough time to work that bypassed objective.
  • I know for me I continue to work to improve my balance of risk vs speed.
