I've been thinking about a small feature that could make a big difference for all of us: an "Add to Calendar" option for scheduled operations/events posted on the 7Cav website.

Imagine being able to click a button and instantly add the operation to your personal calendar (Google, Apple, Outlook, or whatever you use), automatically adjusted to your local time zone. It would save time, reduce confusion with time zones, and help us stay organized by having everything in our schedules at a glance.

I think this feature would not only make life easier for all of us but also ensure we never miss an important operation because of timing issues. What do you all think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Just a heads up that the calendar on the forum is adjusted to local time zone, at least the one set on your account.

As far as attaching to your personal calendar, that's a solid idea.

There already is an export to calendar option. But it does it by week not by event

Does the add to calendar button in each event not work?
https://7cav.us/events/1064/ for reference

The "Add to Calendar" option just downloads a file for me, which only works on desktop, and even then, you have to manually add it to your calendar. On mobile, the website doesn't seem to show this option at all, and if I want to use it, I have to transfer the file to my phone manually.

Is there a way to make this feature more functional, especially for mobile users? It would be great if the website displayed the option on mobile and allowed events to directly sync with calendars like Google or Apple without requiring manual steps.

Happy to jump into a channel and walk you through anything.

The file that it downloads will add the event to the calendar if opened.
If you are not able to see something on mobile, look for the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal-stacked lines).

Thanks for the suggestion on adding google integration and apple integration. The calendar addon is provided by a third party developer and we purchase it from them. I'll forward your suggestion over to them but implementation is entirely up to their discretion.

As for your other point:
The calendar file works on mobile as well, its a standard .ics file that works with most calendars. You can download it on mobile as well if you toggle the sidebar from the menu as Cameron.J mentioned already. Here are some screenshots to show you how.

On both Safari and Chrome I get this error: Safari cannot download this file.
