Problem solved! In Steam, r/click on HLL and select Properties. Under 'General' there is a space for Launch Option. I put in -dx12 into the box and that solved the problem. Thanks to CPL. Huber for the information on that. Now it seems I need to get a better graphics card as by GeForce 9800 GT doesn't have enough memory for HLL.

Just returned to Colorado from several months in NJ at my brother's trying to regain my health. Starting my home gaming PC and tried to run HLL but I keep getting this 'DX11 Feature level 10.0 required to run the engine' error message.
I've got a Geforce 9800 GT card and am running DirectX12. I've tried updating the graphics drivers but when I do I am always told I have the most current ones available.
In my DXDIAG it says my Feature Levels include 10_0 which tells me I should have the required 10.0.
Can anyone offer any suggestions? HLL runs okay on my laptop which I played it on while I was in NJ at my brother's house.
