COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Atlas-2
Element Leader: Specialist Sam.T

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Corporal Velasquez.J
Specialist Villmarsson.L

Pro:
  • Good comms on the intra-squad, inter-squad, and Squad to platoon level.
  • Very busy!
  • No black tags under our care.
  • Some new medical experience for one of our members, a tremendous first OP running medical.
  • Very fast-paced!

Con:
  • Arsenal issues at the beginning. None of our SOP Medical kits were present, and the arsenal was limited, so none of our saved public kits were available—sort of the worst of both worlds initially. Full arsenal corrected this.
  • Mixed feelings about the lack of vehicles. Toward the end, both Atlas teams had a roughly 1-1.5 kilometer hike to get to Viking while they had a mass-cas. Amazingly Atlas-1 made it in time and seemingly prevented the loss of all those troopers.

Remarks:
Getting handed the role of Misfit-7 halfway through was unexpected! Luckily, I could grab an extra long range off another medic that wasn't 2IC and take up the reigns on Platoon Net!

Pro:
  • Good comms within squad, very clear and concise.
  • Decent number of casualties, kept the squad busy for most of the op
  • People had fun and liked the op overall
  • Great experience being my first time as SL on Arma. It proved to be a challenge, I`m looking foward on doing it again in the future

Con:
  • People running while under care
  • Very buggy night.

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Raider-2
Element Leader:
Specialist Korwel.J

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Warrant Officer I Wulf.C

Pros:
  • Scope + theme of the mission was great.
  • We pulled off helping insert the initial troops into the AO by temporarily flying buffalos -- other than some delays at the start this went well.
  • Communication within the bird was good, albeit difficult due to only the pilot being able to hear most traffic (it was almost as if those with bugged comms were on their own separate net despite being on the same frequencies).

Cons:
  • ACRE bugs had an incredibly negative impact on our combat effectiveness.
  • LZ's and BP's at the start of the mission were too close to the AO.
  • It seemed like Raider-1 got most of the combat tasking. We were performing ISR for the majority of the operation and only got to engage a couple targets after about 45-60 minutes into the operation.

Pro:
  • Excellent communication between 7 and Atlas when I was in
  • Sam.T responded quickly on discord and took the reins.

Con:
  • Battle eye kicked about halfway through
  • ACRE chaos. It seems like it is happening more frequently recently.
