Pros:
  • Intense combat at the mosque area
  • Good hold on the SE mosque corner and N-NE enemy groups
  • Good QRF detection by squad and distance engagement at ORP
  • No black casualties
  • Good proactive resupply from ATLAS-3 during engagements at mosque and ORP
  • VIKING-6 pulled us out of the mosque as soon as possible
  • Great air support from SPARROW, excellent gun runs!

Cons:
  • Unable to get assistance from 7 or ATLAS 1/2 at the mosque, even prior to VIKING-3 mass cas
  • Too long of a drive to ORP, should've been half of that, tops
  • Completely unsuitable vehicles for the tasking, both VIKING and ATLAS teams
  • Unsuitable vehicles affecting planning, forcing us to "Rambo" into the middle of uncleared, enemy held urban area

Public Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Mission Completed

Cons:
  • It felt like Atlas 3 was an after thought in the Assult plan, mostly as i were not at the Leaders Recon.
  • Boring and ruff time in the back of the convoy.
  • Slow unorthodox vehicle.
  • Loosing the box carrier and resupply outside of the main objective.
  • I (Lucander) felt that i was not given the freedom to lead by 7.
  • We felt stuck, as security, insted of being mobil, as resupply and transport needs to be to function.
  • We were disapointed that we were not used as EOD, as the mission sounded like it would be EOD, when reading the mission bref.
  • I feel that we as a Battalion needs to streamline what Atlas 3 does and what Atlas 4 does, as everyone seems to have difrent opinions on it.
