Briefing:
The newly formed Sambisa Coalition, comprising of forces from ISWAP, Boko Haram, and a number of smaller insurgent groups, have launched a large scale offensive against Nigerian forces in the Borno State. This offensive has pushed the Nigerian 7th Infantry Division north into Niger where they have established defensive positions north of the Yobe River. Facing continued assaults in the central regions, the Nigerian government has asked for assistance from the international community in destroying the coalition.
