7th Cav ID from Steam does not fit in the Origin username space provided. What modifications, if any, can be made to the 7th Cav ID so that I can have it displayed in BF 2042?

For the HLL Console, their Team17 ID only allows 15 characters but they we have a 4 character clan tag.

RNK.LastName.FirstInitial [7Cav]

CPT.Budd.D [7Cav]

Not sure if this helps at all

Historically, we've done -7Cav-KastorK as minimum for BF3/BF4, stick the rank in if you got enough characters.

To be honest, I'm torn between Kastor and Rav's proposals.

I've heard you can't put hyphens in Origin names. Is that true?

you can't use our traditional equal signs or almost any other special character, but you can use the hyphen "-"

I also remembered that we did the no-rank -7Cav-LastN format because you only could change Origin names so often.

Ah that makes sense then. Yeah I'd keep out the rank then.

=7Cav=RCT.Misketis.D <- this is my 7Cav ID.
=7Cav=RCT.Misket <- this is what fits in the Origin space provided.
What could I change this to?

If you were to follow formatting we used in previous iterations of Battlefield, change it to -7Cav-MisketisD

I very much like the idea of -7Cav-LastN

It should be able to work for the large majority of names.

-7Cav-Last? Sounds good? I just don't like the hyphens since it takes up space. Longer last names won't fit.

It's part of our online identity and our uniform. The historical clantag is =7Cav=, the hyphens are already a concession. We're required to wear clantags by General Orders.

Historically in Battlefield,

When I launched Bad Company 2 which did not have a platoons / companies / clans feature at release we went with

-7Cav-Name

This of course was back when folks didn't have "real names" and so I was -7Cav-OSOK, but even now there's not that many folks that share a name so it rarely causes any issues.

Please try to use -7Cav-LName.F where possible.
