Second Lieutenant Joseph Adler

Pros:
  • We managed to execute everything we wanted in the FTX
  • Started to get used to coordinating infantry, armor and artillery
  • Importance of smokes to move and block the enemy's view
  • Great leadership from the SLs and some troopers
  • Great discussion regarding the new doctrine and opinions on the implementation of the new ideas
  • Lots of information was compiled to improve SP training plans, future FTXs and the doctrine itself
Cons:
  • Utilize the terrain better. More map reconnaisance is needed for this
  • Beware of the flanks as they were left undefended at times
  • Utilize artillery or smoke grenades for pushes on open terrain
  • Attack enemy flanks
  • Either focus on taking the enemy defended location or bypass it to encyrcle it
  • More guidance needed in live fire from us in leadership as the power vacuum was noticeable at certain points

Pros:
  • Great coordination between infantry and troops
  • Good effort was put in to correct mistakes that were seen in the first half

Cons:
  • Server lag caused lots of shots and miscoordination between the crew and the TC
  • We failed to follow up multiple times after we had strong pushes, this resulted in us not taking the point
  • VOIP bug is still present

Private John Hunt

Pros:
  • Built up strong defensive location and held strong during both pushes
  • Managed to flank armour and eliminate 1 tiger and 2 panthers while under heavy tank and artillery fire
  • Utilized defensive terrain to protect and gain advantage on enemy units
  • Got very good defensive experience
  • Communication between infantry and tanks were spot on. Got short and to the point calls and marks were constantly updated on the map.
  • Internal tank comms
Cons:
  • Missed out on offensive exercise which was the main focus for FTX (For team balancing purposes)
  • Initial push we had excellent position but found game mechanics forced us to move and expose a weak spot leading to our death (our shots heading 10 ft above target on a clear line of sight)

Element Callsign: Axis Section Leader
Element Leader: Corporal Anthony Preacher

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Corporal Anthony Preacher (Squad Leader, Alpha & Bravo Fireteams)
Specialist Scott Riley (Medic, Bravo Fireteam)
Specialist Zambrano Jefferzon (Automatic Rifleman, Bravo Fireteam)
Specialist Fox Simon Martin (Green Team, Alpha Fireteam) Also Observing for Hermes
Specialist Jim Di Perna (Support, Alpha Fireteam)
Private First Class Atticus Reign (Green Team, Alpha Fireteam)
Private First Class Shawn Hermes (Alpha Fireteam Leader) Leadership Development
Private First Class Nick Smith (Rifleman, Bravo Fireteam)

Pros:
  • Intrasquad Communication was great.
  • Coordination between Armor and Infantry has been the best it's ever been. Excellent work on behalf of all squad leaders and tank bosses.
  • Combined Defense score of 8200 (through all the disconnects it possibly could be higher)
  • Great AAR both post-game and within the Reaper channel amongst our squad and some guests. - Hermes
  • Realizing the need to study mission goals and objectives ahead of time - Hermes
  • Understanding the need and importance to practice said mission goals or specifics regarding a scrim or op prior to the event. - Hermes
  • The importance of brevity and keeping communication short and to the point - Hermes
Cons:
  • Lack of Platoon/Company level direction during the FTX caused miscommunication to spur in Phase 1. I had to step in to get everyone working on the same page.
  • Misunderstanding of the OPORD caused the attacking force (Members of A/2-7) to funnel into a certain area to conform to orders. A more clear cut understanding that we could utilize any direction to attack would change the plan of attack.
  • Unclear roles and assignments - Hermes
  • Attempting to cram too much last-minute information and planning before the match - Hermes
  • Missed orders via command chat due to excessive and unnecessary use - Hermes

Specialist Fox Simon Martin (2/1/A/2-7 FTL) statement on Private First Class Hermes for leadership training:
"
Hermes took squad lead during FTX, overall demonstrated great leadership qualities.
* Able to relay information clearly
* Kept his cool when things got heavy
* Gave clear direction to his squad
* Was able to drop OP in a strategic AO allowing the squad to be properly set up for a further push into enemy territory.
* With direction from command, Hermes was able and willing to support the armored crew and kept an open line of communication with the armor to zero in enemy forces

Hermes could improve on as squad lead
* The ability to tune out command chat and/or squad chat when multiple personnel are communicating at once.
* Taking the initiative to deviate from command when the situation calls for it. "
