COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Pioneer-5
Element Leader: Staff Sergeant Giordano.C
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:

• Very Enjoyable compound operation
• Put together a wonderful convoy at the start with Helios-1 & Pioneer -1. Allowed us to roll security along the fat southern MSR in parallel to the maneuver squads. Opened a convoy radio net that all security elements stayed on and monitored throughout the operation to keep direct contact independently from assaulting force.
• CAS, magnifico
• ISR reports from the Jones Duo allowed security elements time to prep for contact size and direction before it became a react to contact
• Helios checkpoints were phenomenal

Cons:

• Need to get back to learning the 5-line, situational calling & nighttime markings
• Unable to reinsert maneuver reinserting troopers near their respective objectives due to being separate from those actions. Did not feel comfortable to open an LZ that was not vetted by myself. opens question on who all can open LZs for reinsert
• Pioneer - 7 made me wince when they were about to cross in front of a squad size element with heavy technical, luckily Raven relayed the SPOTREP and it went through to 7 before they got wiped.
• Had a few decision-making ideas to help with the assault on OBJ 1, however unsure what is needed to hand the task out without "stepping on the toes" of the AO leader.
