Briefing
Recently, a NATO Task Force attacked critical points of interest around the Palmyran Airfield. Specifically, a Citadel that served as a potent overwatch position, a chemical weapons storage facility, and the taxiways and runways of Palmyra Airport.
While the attack on the citadel was successful, intel suggests that the strikes on the taxiway and weapon storage facility had a limited effect. Militants operating from the region have scrambled to repair the minor damage sustained on the airfield. In addition, over the past few days, Airborne Warning and Control (AWACs) operating in the area have observed several reinforcing flights arriving from Saudi Arabia and Iraq. And have reports of several convoys of supplies driving through the dead of night to rearm and resupply enemy forces.
