Briefing
While the Russian Federation is busy with the war on the territory of Ukraine and supporting Hamas terrorists against Israel, the Georgian government decided to unfreeze the territorial dispute and take back the territories occupied by Russia during the military aggression in 2008.
During the first stage of operation, Georgian land troops with support of US 7th Cavalry aviation group attempted to attack and capture the 7th Krasnodar Red Banner military base in Abkhazia (Objective “Alpha”) and the 4th Guards military base in South Ossetia (Objective “Bravo”). While completion of objective “Alpha” was successful, land forces failed to land troops at objective “Bravo”. In addition, CVN-74 was damaged and had to leave the area of operation. Navy air wing performed emergency transfer to Batumi aerodrome. Air force group and together with Army helicopters landed at objective “Bravo”. Other forces are still based at military aerodromes close to Tbilisi. Now, 12 hours since the beginning of the operation, intelligence detected Russian armored columns moving from the mainland to restore the control over the attacked bases. Georgian troops are preparing defence and again put a lot of hope on 7th Cavalry aviation.
It is important not to cross Russian border during this mission.
