The Squad Combined Arms School is proud to announce that we will be conducting the Rotary Wing Operations course. RWO is focused on cultivating and testing the skills necessary to becoming a pilot in the Squad AO. This course is the first of a two-class rotary mnemonic, and upon its successful completion, will award qualifying candidates with the Army Aviator Badge. This course consists of a classroom portion and a qualification. The class is 180 minutes (3 hours) long.
Troopers Will Learn
- Rotary Wing basics
- Basic flight introduction
- Basic flight patterns
- Pick-Up and Drop-Off (PUDO) best practices
- Advanced flight patterns
- Hot Landing Zone PUDO best practices
- Flight-Wing Qualification
Student Prerequisites
- No active negative action
- Pen and paper
- Squad installed and working prior to class start time
Notes
- Maximum of 3 students per instructor
- Priority given to troopers assigned to a rotary billet in Squad
- Only troopers from Echo Company will receive their qualification badges
- If you sign up for a class and are unable to attend, please reply in this post letting us know ahead of time so we can give someone else your slot
